Change starts with One.
It has been a minute since i have had the chance to write. Life tends to get in the way. After working hard the past 8 weeks with two of my classes, I finished strong with a 4.0 for the first part of the semester. Pretty happy about that! The second half of the semester starts on Monday.
College can be overwhelming, but so rewarding when you see the end results.
I actually wrote a research paper in my criminal justice course on Opioid addiction. I made an "A" on it. Of course, it is something that has hit home for my family, it is something I am passionate about. I long to see the day, when our Country...no our World is free from this heart wrenching epidemic.
I want to help change the way society views addicts. It is a disease that rips families apart and takes the lives of so many precious people. I have watched many loved ones battle addiction. It hurts watching them go through it.
Life is valuable and should never be taken for granted.
If you see some one struggling - be the light that leads them out of the darkness.
We aren't going to save everyone, but we can guide them in the right direction.
Change starts with one person and becomes a domino effect if we allow it too.
Don't be afraid to help those who need it. It's true that unless someone is willing to change, change will not happen. However, be the light - speak positive words and be a friend.
Don't enable.
Trust the process.
Be an Example.
Speak truth.
It all starts with One Person!
