I'm not sure if many of you have heard of the Robb Report, as it caters to a specific demographic, but it is an industry leader.

It is a magazine all about luxury. It began in the US 40 years ago and is now spreading out all over the world, including places like the UK, Russia, Vietnam and more. It talks about all things luxury and is the true leading standard of luxury.

The editor-in-chief and senior VP who has has traveled all over the world with the Robb Report said some very interesting things that fits in perfectly with what we do and what we need to provide to our readers in order to be our own niche leaders.

In talking about why his magazine is so successful (even in an increasingly paperless age), this is what he had to say:

Robb Report always tried to dig in deeper, finding out the why of the what and present that to our readers because our readers want to understand the details. They don't want to be told well this better than that and kind of have it stop there. They want to go on to understand why.


I think this goes back to our training from Kyle. The most important part of getting readership is by delivering quality content what they want. They don't just want to be told to buy product 'A' because it's better than product 'B.' They want to know WHY it's better before they spend their money.

It's the whole If you build it, they will come concept. Give your readers quality and then they will reward you financially.
