Gutenberg good or bad?
I was looking at installing Gutenberg but after viewing the ratings and comments in WordPress, I am now reluctant to install Gutenberg.
As you can see from the above image the ratings in Gutenberg are pretty alarming. Out of 1,068 reviews more than half rate Gutenberg at only 1 star.
You are always going to have the haters and negative ones and I am always expecting negative ratings for any program but, 612 x 1 star reviews seems to suggest to me that there maybe something wrong.
I remember my father saying to me when I got my first full time job at 17. He said "son if someone comes up to you on the job and criticises another person, take it with a grain of salt, BUT, if 3 or 4 or more people come up to you and say something bad against that particular individual then keep it in the back of your mind and be wary of that person". So 612 bad reviews is now in the back of my mind so I am wary.

Hi Brad,
One of our websites is asking to install Gutenberg, which I haven't done and after reading this review, will not.
I am not dropping it completely, just giving the creator of it time to refine the problems (if they can).
But for now, the old or current editor will do just fine.

Totally agree Bill and there are far too many negative comments for my liking to download it at this point in time.
I don't need any more headaches.
This is going through growing pains and site support has its work cut out as WA uses Word Press!

The next major release fo Wordpress contains a change to the editor that they are calling Gutenberg.

Put it this way Roger, I am not going to use it yet. It sounds like it might be a bit of a headache for me at this point in time.
I know Marion is using it but her skills are far more advanced than mine at this stage of my development in learning to code etc.

MarionBlack has done several trainings about Gutenberg and she has been using it for a while already (since the early Beta versions), so she will probably be the best one to speak to.
I feel the same as you, Brad, I also "have Gutenberg in the back of my mind". ;-)

We are praying for rain. which is a problem because if there is no rain then the cows won't produce good quality dairy which may affect the outcome of my mousse made with cream and Nut + Ella. LOL
LOL! Oops, yes, mousse made with powdered milk won't be the same, eh? :-) LOL!
I had a very naughty colleague, he was always up to some mischief. ;-) One day he took somebody along to visit a farmer client. On the way there, she asked what happens to the cows when there's a drought. Without missing a beat and with a straight face he said: "That is when the cows start producing powdered milk." To which she replied: "Oh I didn't know that!" ;-)) LOL!
HAHA.
I will say when I went to NZ the grass was lush and green in Opunake, Taranaki. I got to chase some bulls and heifers for the stock sales in Hawera. Definitely no powdered milk in that part of the World. BUT after the stock sales, I went with a mate to the pub in Hawera and managed to walk into a pub full of Black Power bikies and their bikie chicks. The chicks had numbers tattooed on their heads. And in 1985 a couple of the chicky babes tried to put the hard word on, sensibly I declined as it would have been a death wish if I took up both offers. LOL. I am still alive so I did the sensible thing.

I always chat and joke, so yesterday when Joe, the cashier asked whether I'm done working for the day, I put my hands on my hips and act as if I'm surprised, saying "Joe? Is a woman EVER done working?" ;-) And without missing a beat, he said: "No ma'am, NEVER!" ;-) LOL! So I burst out laughing and said he is definitely "well trained", hinting that his wife trained him well. "No", said Joe, "one has to pick your fights wisely ma'am!" ;-) LOL!
So you definitely also picked your (non)fight wisely that day! ;-)

I'm using Gutenberg on my live website now and I love it. Some things are so much easier, especially for non-techie minded people. Give it a go on a test website and see for yourself.
I can't give it 5-stars yet because there are still a few tiny bugs they need to squash. But it's worth at least 4-stars..
