Suddenly it hit me!

I was out last week doing the sound for a large show that a friend of mine was directing, it was hard work, working all day then all night till late at the show. The only break I got was for about an hour when I got home before going to bed and then up to start it all again.

Before I went out one night to the show I scanned what's on the TV and spotted "greatest guitar players of the 70's" wow, they were my inspiration to start playing the guitar, my hero's. I was so excited when I got home, grabbed a beer and switched on the program that I had recorded. I got more excited when the presenter started the introduction, music from Bowie, Clapton, Hendrix, Bolan and ......... The list went on and on.

My mind went back to my youth and I remembered what I used to say to myself when I watched these guys, that's what I want to be, that's how want to play.

Suddenly the first artist started playing "David Bowie" Wow! Oh!

"Eric Clapton" Wow! Oh!

"Jimi my man Hendrix" WOW!!! Oh!

Why the Oh? Well you have to remember that these guys were my "Guitar Gurus" and it was not till I watched the old footage of them playing that I realised I had achieved all those goals, I can play what they play, in fact in some cases better, my skills have exceeded my own expectations without me even realising it.

I now reflect on my time at WA and realise how far down the path to my freedom I have come, in fact it is just round the corner, I just need to keep focused and taking action, then I can look back at what done and see how I can help others to learn to do the same!
