Hurricane Melissa Will Destroy Most Of Jamaica
This is just a shout out to ALL members of Wealthy Affiliate, especially those who do not live in this area of the world. Hurricane Melissa is heading right for Jamaica and there is going to be the worst damage that island nation will have ever seen.
Fortunately for me, my relatives and friends who have dual citizenship are all here in the United States, However, there are many people who cannot leave and there will be strong winds, flooding, mud slides and power outages by the strongest storm of the year.

Melissa is already the strongest hurricane of 2025 and the strongest to ever hit the island. Melissa a currently a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 175 mph. If you believe in prayer, PLEASE PRAY! If you don't believe in prayer, SEND POSITIVE THOUGHTS!

Hey Rob,
I have been praying for the people in Jamaica, Turks & Caicos, Haiti, Bermuda, and other nearby islands who will be affected by Hurricane Melissa since yesterday.
I have friends in Turks & Caicos....
Prayers are powerful. Yes, let us all pray for the safety of all people, their animals, vital infrastructures, their homes. Human and animals are important.... lives matter!
š
I agree Monica. Prayer is powerful.
I too have a friend living nearby in the Bahamas. I hope she is seeking to either leave or seek shelter since hurricane Melissa is expected to head there after crossing Jamaica and eastern Cuba.
I pray your friends in Turks and Caicos, as well as every living thing in the area, will be safe.
Hi Rob. I'm a central Floridian, so I know hurricanes well enough.
My prayers and good thoughts are for Jamaica.
Teri
Is there any benefit in looking at this belt or is it just for time pass? Can someone tell me what all this is?
There was a time I wanted to move to central FL and work for Disney. I'm a huge fan, but I got to experience the bad weather down there once and that changed my mind quickly.
We live about an hour+ from Disney, Rob. We're in higher ground around us and so far, bad weather just goes over and around us. My home is surrounded by Maple and Popcorn trees. I swear they hold everything together like a mesh.
We do get limbs, but not so bad we can't just clean them up when all passes.
My barn was built to withstand 150mph winds in 2008. That was the strongest winds then. Not so much now with many at 175mph!
So, it depends on where you live. Disney also seems to be in a area that is somewhat protected and built to withstand hurricanes.
Tampa and surrounding area is where they hit and cross the state.
Southern FL - don't live there, lol. Also the armpit of the state gets them bad.
Teri
Yes. I was near the Tampa area. I have friends who live there.
Where I live now in New Jersey I'm in a pretty good area. I live near the top of a hill so all flooding runs down my street.
Winds can be a problem at times but I'm far enough inland and in a valley to avoid a direct hit because the mountains to my east normally will slow down the storm winds.
Hi Rob!
Praying for Jamaica! Thanks for sharing! Some of my friends are Jamaicans. Being from the Caribbean, I know what it is to endure the effects of a hurricane. Keeping the people of Jamaica in my thoughts and prayers as they are going through the horrifying effects of hurricane Melissa!
Wishing you the very best!
Kind regards,
Nichola
Thank you Nichola. I pray that your Jamaican friends and their families in Jamaica will take this storm seriously and seek protection.
All the best to you and them too.
Been praying for them. Went to Israel with a pastor and his wife from there. I hope they evacuated!!! It looks awful. I cant imagine being there right now. Big prayers lifted up!!!
Me too. I hope the pastor and his wife are not thinking like many of the natives to try to ride it out at home. I pray that if they didn't get out, that they went to one of the shelters set up by the government. š

Melissa is the most destructive hurricane I have ever heard about. And the first time on that route.
I live in Puerto Rico and we had H. Maria September 2017. Eight years later there are hundreds of families still suffering its effects.
PR recieved billions of US $$$ in aid.
But government corruption has had a lot to do with this disastrous suffering.
Community organizations and churches were the ones to really help pick up the pieces.
Most of the structures in PR are hurricane resistant, the problems were, and still, are utilities and government services. I don't know about Jamaica.
Melissa with 175 mph winds and traveling at 5 mph is practically a drilling machine. Almost crawling.
International aid must be intensive and extensive.
How to avoid corruption is a problematic issue.
Asking for funds Scams will proliferate intensively, too.
Look up H. Irma's effect on the Island of Barbuda, Smaller Antilles, September 2017.
Accompany prayers with food, medicine, shelter, safety, clothing, etc. aid.
The Caribbean hurricane season is from June to November, but sometimes, hurricanes have appeared in later months, too.
God protect us all!
Hurricane Melissa, now with winds up to 180 mph is already destroying the infrastructure along the shore line as it pushes inland.
Though the strength is strong it's not so much the wind but the flooding and storm surge. I remember what Hurricane Helene did to Asheville, NC last year this time.
I was supposed to be living there by now, but God kept throwing road blocks in my path and then Helene hit. Had I moved, I would have lost everything, maybe even my life.
I pray God protects Jamaica and everyone else and animals in the path of this monster storm. Eastern Cuba is next and then to the Bahamas.
The most dangerous part of an hurricane are the floods.
And people not following safety instructions.
Most injuries and death are due to "NOT" preparing for the event.
I agree. Many think the building they are in can withstand the wind but they forget and don't prepare for the flooding and storm surge.
