How To Get Higher Google Rankings With Comments

Here is another quick post about Google, but this time I will tell you how to get higher Google rankings with comments on your website. You may know this already, comments on your website are important.

WHY COMMENTS ARE IMPORTANT FOR YOUR WEBSITE

Recently Kyle in his Beer With Kyle blog was talking about a New Update to the SiteComments portion of the Wealthy Affiliate platform. He gave us examples as to why comments are beneficial to our websites.

One reason he said was to get people to engage with your content. When someone comes to your page and post and sees no comments, they may not be inclined to be the first person to leave a comment.

Another reason is to give your content a better chance of attracting engagement from other readers who may have a question or an opinion on what you have shared. It is that last point I want to add some insight to.

YOUR WEBSITE COMMENTS GET INDEXED TOO

We all want Google to index our content for various reasons, but one reason is to be ranked in the search results for the keywords. Did you know, Google indexes and can rank you from your website comments too?

This happened to me a few times. The first time it happened I was in my Google Search Console and noticed I was being ranked in the number 1.0 Position for the keyword Steven Bransfield. That shocked me!

I had NO content on my website that I created and published that mentioned the name Steven Bransfield. I did do a scam review on a company he was later associated with, but I never used his name in my content,

I soon found out that two separate people had left comment replies to another person's comment and both used this guy Steven Bransfield's name. THAT IS WHY I was ranking on Page 1 Position 1 for that name.

It was later confirmed to me by Kyle, that Google does index your comments and can rank you for keywords appearing in those comments. COOL! If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below.
