You can use the Ad Inserter plugin, as you do not want to edit your themes files directly as you will lose your changes when the theme updates or if you change your theme.
Thank you so much for the info. Does sitekit help to auto add? They say I should download an ads.txt file then upload the file to the root level domain of each site. I am not sure what that means

Hello everyone. I dont know if I will be able to phrase my question properly. I am using amazon affiliate links and I have an affiliate disclosure and a health disclaimer on my
Hi - yes, you need to add this exact phrase directly above the first affiliate link in any post that contains Amazon links.
"As an Amazon Associate I may earn from qualifying purchases"
They are very strict and have many rules, such as you are not allowed to mention the price of a product, or use their star ratings in any way, and you can only use the one single image they supply you with, you can't copy and paste any others from the product page.
Breaking even one of these rules can get you banned from their program.
This is something I didn’t know actually so thanks. :) when you say you can’t use other images off their site, does this include images of the product taken from other sites or galleries too? X
Hi - all the images on your site have to be copyright-free. You can't take them from Google, or any other websites. This is covered in level 2 of the training which includes a list of the copyright-free websites that allows you to use their images.
Once you have joined an affiliate program, they typically supply you with appropriate images for their products, but you will have to read their terms and conditions. Amazon is definitely the strictest and will only allow you to use one image.
Using images that are not copyright-free or you do not have permission to use them, could land you with a hefty fine.
I'm surprised to hear that. How can you not mention the price of a product - I thought that was part of writing a review on a product.
Hi - Amazon requires that everything on your site be accurate. Vendors can change their price daily if they wish. Your potential customers wont be happy if you state a specific price and they discover it's a lot more expensive.
Plus, imagine if somebody reads your review in 2 or 3 years time. The price will obviously have changed.
You can use Amazons Text + Image option if you want to show the price as it automatically updates.
Hey Boikhutso,
That is correct. The "new" rule from Amazon is that beside EVERY link we are to disclose that the link is an affiliate link.
What I do is add the following:
(my affiliate link)
right after affiliate text links and below affiliate image or embedded video links.
But... for me, this is NOT new. This has been a recommended standard of practice that affiliate marketers suggested years ago. So, I was using this for other affiliate links already, so was simple enough to add to my Amazon links too.
I even use the following for Amazon links: Affiliate Disclaimer Button so, now my website is transparent as I can possibly make it. :-)
Hope you find this helpful.
Amazon is mentioned within the affiliate disclosure and I doubt if another one is necessary. I have used Amazon for a year and a half with no issues like you mention.
This is a recent addition to Amazon's rules, so any new affiliate who has not yet met the sales target and received final approval will have to abide by it.
As your account was presumably approved some time ago, then perhaps you can get away without having it, but Amazon does have the right to inspect your website at any time to check for compliance.

Good day everyone.
Can anyone clarify for me the difference between indexing and ranking? I seem to be a little confused.
Thank you in advance
Kind regards<
I see you have the techie answers Boilet.
An analogy could be it is like going to a party, you make a quiet entrance. You are indexed.
Then as the night wears on, the voices become louder, if yours is loudest, you are in page one, top position. 😎
Michael.
Hi Boikhutso the first stage is where Google crawls your singular content or post with a automated bot called Google bot, I know unique aye.
At this point Google will add your content into Google's group of indexed content. It becomes visible online.
From here content is ranked in accordance with how it relates to search queries or questions.
Obviously the higher the ranking the higher the probability that a searcher will click on that content.
Indexing first then ranking.
Hope that clarifies.
Sure. Indexing is when Google scans your website to log everything that is on your site to see what they could rank. Ranking is when they put your posts within their Google search results page for when people type in certain search keywords or keyword phrases - if your post content is what someone is looking for to answer a query of theirs. Hope this explains it for you.
