Cliches are often cliches because they're true.
Take: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
This is so true in many areas of life, including those who are introduced to Wealthy Affiliate, is it not?
Many are lead, but fewer follow through.

It boils down to how much do you want it.

Trying to motivate others is tough, like pushing a boulder up a mountain.
Whilst having an internal passion and desire to create, do or have the goal you have set is the opposite. Like a snowball running down a hill, driven by it's own momentum, going faster, growing bigger as it progresses.
Remember the story of the sun and the wind. They observed a guy walking whilst wearing a thick top coat as he journeyed many miles. The wind boasted that it could remove the garment, and bet the sun it could do so the quickest. The sun accepted the bet.
The wind went first, and the more it blew, the tighter the pedestrian clung to his garment and pulled it to him. Finally the wind gave up. Then the sun's turn. It shone brightly, and as the rays grew stronger and the day hotter, the guy started perspiring. So much so that he discarded his coat of his own accord.
External motivation is not nearly as effective, powerful or long lasting as that which comes from within.
The fact is the horse has to be thirsty!
