Hi Hope all well
I ran into this problem only a few days ago as well. I downloaded the widget Content aware side bars which allowed me to remove affiliate widgets from the side bar on my home page and privacy. Hi there,
Log in to your WP Dashboard. Click one of your blog posts.
In the sidebar menu of the Post Panel (right-hand side), look for Categories. If you do not see it, click Screen Options at the upper right corner of the screen and check off “Categories.”
At the bottom of the Category panel box, click +Add New Category.
Enter the name of the category in the form.
If appropriate, select the Parent Category for this Category.
Click Add New Category.
After you publish your post from Site Content, edit your post in WP back office to categorize your post based on the topic you have.
I hope it helps.

Yes. Say you are writing about blogging, then you can Categorize it in the Blog category.
If you are writing about How to lose weight, then the category maybe Weight Loss.
