I think this is because the questions you ask are suppose to be asked here on lessons, and not so much vacations. :) Blog? hee!

What's with having to add a ? after everything. I think there's some glitch in WA's system. I keep receiving emails for every post I've ever replied to --and it's f
Check with tech support if you are receiving more mail than you choose in the settings. That is what settings is supposed to control!

i've changed directions 1 million times at least, but have finally developed a website I believe in and can see myself working on full time. It's called
This is a really great idea! I checked out your site and it looks for professional and it's got a ton of potential.
I'm curious though - how is this different from something like Indiegogo or Kickstarter? Why would someone choose to crowdfund through granted.me vs going to a platform that's already well established and has a lot of potential donors?
I would personally start something here I think because it is so new, so it's not like my project will go to page 100 and then I'd have to work on the rank... but on the other hand, will I be limiting myself to who can sponsor me?
HI Travel Hacker--Thanks. I realize there are a few backend issues, which I hope to get fixed this week (it seems that once a user posts his/her campaign--its not possible to edit it).
Granted.Me differs from Indiegogo and Kickstarter in that it is geared towards Social Science and Humanities based academic research projects. While there are some similar crowd funding sites--most seem to focus on Science research or funding individual education costs (like tuition and books).
I do have a few potential partners that will help to legitimize Granted.Me--but I don't want to jinx it by naming names or discussing it yet.
Perhaps--I was a bit too excited and posted on here prematurely --as Gratned.Me isn't fully functional yet. But--fingers crossed--it should be 100% bug free and ready to go by the end of the month. I'll keep you posted and would be honored if you were one of my first campaigns!
Now I'm just hoping that another company doesn't come out and do this bigger and better before my site's ready!

I guess I missed that somehow - because I saw some 'getting a business started' projects, I didn't realize it was supposed to be specialized for academic research projects. It's a great idea!

Yeah--I'm going to rework the categories. Part of me wants to expand outside of research---but the real need is in the research niche. Working on back end stuff--and more content coming soon!
Thanks so much--yes, it's still in the "got potential phase". Building an online business takes so much work...who would have thought lol. I'm adding the payment gateway now--and after I have at least 5-10 blog articles I'll start promoting the site.
All submissions have to be approved manually - so don't worry if your campaign doesn't show up right away. Also--for anyone who takes time to add some pics and video content- I'll make yours a "featured" campaign.
And-- I promise not to spam you. A monthly newsletter is in the works, but I will contact you before adding you to any list.
