New direction and which way to go.?
So I've posted about this before, the idea of going into a totally different niche.
What I'm wondering is since I want to help people with their websites and with WordPress as I continue to learn more and start developing a site of my own, should I stick with the first course or do the Bootcamp course?
I have ideas for becoming an affiliate for list building programs, WordPress themes (some I'm already associated with from years back), paid plugins and such.
What's your thoughts on this? WA will of course play right into it but I'm not doing this just because I want to promote WA.
I have always been interesting in building websites, HTML/CSS, WordPress (since I'd discoverd it) and I love to dive into tech situations and find solutions and then write about them, do videos, help solve problems, that sort of thing.
The current niche I was in just wasn't something I ended up wanting to keep writing about and realized that I had to make a change if I was going to move forward at all.
As always, appreciate any feedback.
Eric

In your last paragraph this phrase - "just wasn't something I ended up wanting to keep writing about" is the key: You ideally need to be in a niche that you can keep producing content on for ever and a day, and enjoy it.
I'm in the WordPress security niche because I've been using WP since 2006. I enjoy it, I have my own WP development agency, and I can write about it all day long.
And that was the key driver for my choice of niche.
It is a very competitive niche, for sure, but I've tried writing on natural health remedies related to inflammation (something I have had for years) and, even though I had direct experience of it, I ran out of things to write about. My knowledge simply wasn't deep enough.
Trying to write on a subject you've chosen because it seemed like a good idea at the time, or was lucrative, or whatever, becomes a real drag after a while. Plus if you're not deeply knowledgeable about the niche it shows in your writing - which holds back your success.
I'd say Go For It..!
Cheers,
Martin.
Hey Martin, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I need to be able to keep writing if I'm going to get anywhere and building websites and anything and everything to do with internet marketing and website development has always kept me going even though it's so competitive. I ran a blog for a few years and probably had several hundred articles I'd written about blogging (non-keyword-based) back then.
Thanks for the advice. Keep moving forward and learn what needs to be done, and then go for it, like you said!

Redirecting to an appealing niche is a great idea!
Thanks! Yeah, I figure go into something I like so I'm more willing to work on it and make progress then just let the site sit there and dream all day about what could be lol.
