Speaking in public - lesson 2
Now you got you topic - your burning desire - something that really makes to tick - you need to make a story board. What do you want to leave people with in the end? how should your story end? - do you have a beginning? - or do you have an end?
You can start anywhere in the story, and build it from there.. form the middle and out, or from one end to the other. Most important is to know that people don't know your story.. so you can't leave anything out, or talk "insider language" You need to tell the story, so a complete stranger, can understand what you are trying to get accross.
You can build a talk on words alone, or you can add slides. My very best advise to you, is to NOT put any words on these slides, or at least very very few! - no or few "bullit points" just images that state what you want to say...
An example... I tell about the positive in copying. No need to invent something that is already there... if you find someone, who does it right, just copy what they do! - copy copy copy!!! - you'll make it your own anyway... - and while saying "copy copy copy" - I put this image on the screen.
Usually people laugh, when they see that it's a cat in the middle... he's doing what I'm saying... and the audience gets the point.
Use images in your slideshow, if you do one - and don't put people in those photos, unless it's you or someone you know, OR a person in a good situation. In other words, if you are talking about overweight, don't use a photo of a fat man or woman... someone might think it looks like them! - or someone they know, and that will make them sad, angry, and from then on, they don't listen!
Use an animal in stead! - when I talk about eating too much, and feeling stuck in the vicious circle, I use this image...
..that will not offend anyone! - cause it's a fat rat that's stuck! - we can see that! - and inside - we know if we are the rat or not, but we don't need to tell anyone...
Now you have everybody with you, in stead of against you, because you haven't made anyone feel bad..
So lesson two is to google images, that can make you statement stronger and more tight...

Hi there I like your style that is really a good way of pointing out very touchy subjects about peoples problems. I try to point out things through my experiences in life and my gifts and talents given to me by God. I look forward to seeing more of your training and by the way I just really stepped out on a limb with the blog I put out less than an hour a go please take a look at it when you get a chance and you will see how out of the box that I think. Thanks Robert! - I'lll take a look! - and yes... it's always good to keep people out of it, when it is something delicate... And you don't have to worry, they KNOW, if it's them... but your politeness will make them open up, and accept it easier...
