Its another one..

Hello everybody I know its been a while!

I just thought I'd share some thoughts about some of my personal choices and pitfalls when taking the initial steps towards aspiring to become successful, not only towards obtaining wealth but about life in general.

You see, a long way back (using my Brit-American linguire), I always wanted to be wealthy, successful, richer, happier etc. A few thoughts came to mind this morning when eating my marmalade on toast, whilst looking back at all the wrong turns I made which consequentially lead me further and further away from this feat.

I wanted to quickly share some of these things with you:

1. Money Mistakes

Now I don't mean in terms of financial callousness but simply being more about choosing tasks/activities when making the money that didn't get me very far. The money decisions I used to make were not usually well-thought-out and were based upon either what someone else was doing or what looked good at the time which was usually just a mirage which lead straight to failure

2. Making other people money, but why not me?

There is a saying that goes: 'if you fail to make plans for yourself, you will inevitably become a part of someone elses'.

There is a most disturbing trend going on in society which puts the idea in the thoughts and minds of young people that you must go to school/college/university and come out with an education and secure yourself a good job, do not get me wrong when saying that going to university and pursuing an education is bad, having an education is very important. My point is that a lot of us were sold old wives' tale tales and were misled right from the mouth of the pacifier!

3. Not using time wisely

A simple definition of wisdom can be - The right application of knowledge.

A lot of grave mistakes made in life can easily have been avoided if the actions were based upon sound, well-informed choices. In order to use the most valuable asset given to us at the start of our lives, we must certainly learn how to manage it wisely if there is a serious decision to become successful in life. This often means sitting down and thinking things out properly before attempting to commit our TIME, Our most valuable commodity of all to any procedure.

4. Listening too much to the Jealous, the Hating, the Envious..

It has taken me a while to realize this, but while growing up I used to be a highly sensitive person. I used to take what people said very personally which wasn't a very good trait when heading down the road to success. By simply agreeing with everyone and everything and not standing by what I beleive in, this would just form an attraction for people who would want to exploit, manipulate and use you for their own selfish gain.

Learning how to stick to your guns, put your foot down and categorically say NO without worrying or caring too much about what people may say, feel or even do, was a characteristic which I learnt that brought me success then I began to see the desired results I was looking for.

NB: You may lose some friends, gain some enemies but hey! look on the bright side, you learn to know who your real friends are just by using the two letter word now and again!

5. Holding on to 'Friends' whom I should have clearly dumped a long time ago

One final thought I would like to share with you is that If you share your goals, dreams and desires with a person and they respond by being extremely adverse, that is a clear indication that they are not on your team!

What is sure to happen eventually is they will begin to discourage you out of hatred for what you stand for envy because you are about something great and jealousy because you were bold, intelligent and ambitious enough to step out and accomplish things.

I hope by my sharing these things with you will help you not to repeat them on your own journey on the road to success, but will recognize them quickly and have enough courage to value yourself and not settle.

Thanks For Reading
