How lonely do you feel at the top?
So you are your own boss now, like me you've started your business, internet marketing, you're working from home, you've made your own work area, radio perhaps, tea/coffee, which you make yourself, possibly a window to see some daylight, a blank screen, very much like a writer faces every day, but it's your business and you've got to make it work, so you put up with the solo performance every day you "clock" in for work.
"Must make myself another cuppa"
Miss me, while I made a cuppa and of cause no cuppa is the same without a biscuit. No of cause not!
True, you and I can look at the blogs we put on the WA web site and afford some contact from our WA friends throughout the world which is, in it's way, brilliant and I love to read them, but, it's really a distraction and the reality is that I am still sitting here on my own drinking another cup of breakfast tea with a bicky.
So what can I or you do about this?
Well I for one have decided that I need to go out and spread the word about my new business. I have decided to get some cards printed and some leaflets done so that I can go out and talk to real people, give out my new Business Cards, a leaflet or two and talk to real people. It's not hard, or so I tell myself, I've been around quite a while now, done a few face to face jobs so it shouldn't be a problem, should it?
Do I jump in with,
"I've started a business. Do you want to hear about it?"
Well that might work in the great U S of A but here in en Grande-Bretagne (that's french by the way for Great Britain) I think I would try and get the person to speak about themselves and then, at the right time, casually drop in the:
"I do internet marketing and I can hook you up with a free website"
or
"So you've got a business, business idea, product, (delete what's not appropriate) How would you like me to show you how you can get on the internet for free?"
They love the word free, I love the word free this is why I'm here on Wealthy Affiliate, so be free with using it, hammer it home, you can't emphasise it enough.
When you go fishing you need to bait the hook.
So how many of you newbies like me will now get some business cards made up and go out there and talk to people, start your own local net work (another subject) and do some walking.
Another cuppa me thinks...and a bicky.

For me personally I really like being alone. I like sitting here and working all day. I don't have a problem with making myself sit down to work... I just love it!
I love the WA community and chatting to people.
I have changed though. I used to love socializing in person and getting involved with people. Now I enjoy just sitting by myself in peace and quiet!
I think this change came when I had kids, slowly but surely I like the feeling of being all by myself :)
I do however think you have a great point though. WA and your business is NOT just about being online and getting customers online. It is about getting out there. This is something I do on a regular basis... when I do go out, usually the only people I get to chat to are the other moms at the playschool haha. But they all know what I do.Luckily one of my online businesses is a baby store... and we live in a small area. Kinda goes hand in hand with a creche doesn't it?
I also post in our Facebook area groups which helps me get my name out there.
