I just wanted to do a post like Dave does really well and find out what people normally do for their home/landing page. First are the home page and the landing page the same thing?

That's another question that I am not sure about but what I wanted to ask is how you start your landing page. Do you have a separate menu item called "Home" and that is where you arrive when you bring up your website? Also what would your "About Me" menu item be? I've seen it first and last and what is considered to be the best way to structure a menu?

Right now my site has first an "About Me" and then next "Getting Started". I don't have a Home page because I'm not sure what I would put on the Home page. So anybody that would like to answer some or all of these questions I welcome all of your responses.

Thanks so much for all of your help,

bjdLuna

I have a Home page. My landing is whatever article I've written. My niche isn't Wealthy Affiliate so I don't have a Getting Started. The About Me can go first or last. I have my About Me page in the middle but you can put it anywhere you choose that works best for your site. There's no right or wrong but what's best.

I deleted my home page and made getting started as my home page .I have learned that if you have astatic page where they land on first you will rank higher because your post always changes and Google will not rank it as high all the best Max

Doesn't that depend on what you're doing? If you've written an article then don't you want them to go to that article? I'm asking because I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

If it is a page yes but if it is a blog then no because your blog changes all the time and will not rank as high all the best Max

The only thing I would add is that when you create posts they go on the page that you see when your site comes up.

Great answer from Barry.

They can be the same thing if you wish. The landing page is the first one a visitor sees when they come to your site. A home page is where you put your beginning, or introduction, of the site and what you have to offer. At least, this is my view on the subject.

Thanks Barry, it sounds like it can be either way you want it to be but as long as the first page is a static page that is probably most important.

Perfectly put Barry!!!
