Hello all,

It's a pleasure to be here and I believe I have found what I was looking for all these many years. After well over spending over $10,000. 00 in internet marketing systems and not getting any results I gave up. I knew that many "gurus" were making a ton of money and I also knew that I was not. I did not have the money to buy aged domains and all the other recommended tools suggested.

I'm a retired engineer (locomotive kind) and although I have a nice retirement, I want more from life than what that allows me to do. Additional security for me is what I'm after and a more flexible lifestyle would be awesome.

My hobbies are scuba diving, flying airplanes (had one), drones (want one) snow skiing (rusty) and travel. I'm a 38 year desert dweller and was in Tucson for 28 years, and the rest in Las Vegas where I currently reside.

My excitement level is high because this program is so different than every other one I have explored and spent money on. Most are a lot of super selling, upsells, and etc. I'm happy to be away from that and moving forward with W. A.

Hello Bill;

Your experience and history somewhat parallel mine. I have had a varied career as a petroleum engineer and now after 51 years of searching for, developing, recovering and shipping oil and gas, it is time to move onto other things.

My hobbies differ somewhat from yours as I enjoy, hiking, camping, genealogy, vacationing when time permits, spending lots of time with family, especially the grandkids who are always looking for inspiration, help or acknowledgement in whatever it is that is their immediate focus at the time. I have three granddaughters and a grandson, all of whom are between the ages of 9 and 11 and need attention from time to time.

One particular little project with my grandson was to give him instruction and help of course in the building of a 'fort' for him and his friends to play in within their backyard. So to start, I told him any great project like what he was suggesting needs to have a plan. A plan that is drawn out on paper showing the structure, sizing, and materials needed, etc. Well after a few attempts and some guidance with the planning stage, he ended up with a fairly nice plan that he could use for his project, along with a materials list.

At age 11, his finances were somewhat lacking, so we discussed how we could do the project with little or no money. I had noticed that some of the building materials stores often put out dried up, warped, twisted lumber outside with a sign, free for the taking or a big bundle for $5 or some such insignificant amount. I pointed out to my grandson, Cody, that using this kind of material was a cheap and economical way to go, however, it would be much more difficult to use because of its dried out state. For him, that was okay, because he had the time and my assistance to proceed. So with his materials list and the help of his GrandDad, we loaded up some of this 'prized' lumber, some nails and hauled it all home.

Laying out the materials, we discovered that with his 'fort' plan, there were lots of short pieces required thus allowing us to make selective cuts on the 2x4's resulting in quite usable pieces for his project. Actual wastage was minimal. The one aspect that became important was that all nailing had to be pre-drilled as the dried out lumber was easily split. So with this in mind and the fact that Cody was so anxious to do most of the work himself, the project became a fantastic learning experience in the use of regular tools, power tools and the proper selection of wood products, all within the capability of his finances.

The project was worked on after school, weekends and when I had available free time to ensure that he followed the plan properly and that he practised all safety precautions possible, especially with the use of power tools. Of course, his sister got involved as well, so both kids were a great pair to be mentored and I enjoyed the experience as well.

As the project was much more involved than Cody had originally envisioned, he is a most happy young man and is very proud to show anyone that cares to pay attention, what he has accomplished and how much it actually cost him to build a great little fort for his friends and himself to play in. It was a great experience for each of us involved.

Have a great day!

I follow many people here on WA because I want to gain insight from everyone here and it helps when you wish to grow in the community and as people share their stories and successes it enables me to learn from them and stay connected. Your story is important to me for a couple of reasons. You live in Australia and I have many friends there and have visited there 3 times so far and English is not your second language.

With the tools here at WA, publishing should be much easier with all the automatic correction software in use here. My advice to you now would be to just go through the lessons and not worry about the language part. It will become easier as you go along and I'll be you are far better at it than you give yourself credit for.

Dive in, and get started. I'm a new person here also and we will be training simultaneously.

Thank you for the welcome. I actually am not yet a drone pilot although I have flown them. I am putting together a site(s) about drones for beginners and will expand that in hopes of eventually being about to acquire a high end DJI drone. I am going to get my FAA certification to be a commercial drone pilot since you cannot be legally paid to operate a drone without one. The FAA is persnickety about this so I want to comply with their guidelines.

The training I had as a private pilot gave me the knowledge to be able to pass the test. It's $150.00 to take it, and if you fail, it's another $150.00 to take it again. (Don't fail Bill.) There is a helicopter company here that will let me practice test for free as often as I wish so that's very nice of them.

Onward and upward.

P.S. You will not find the term "persnickety" anywhere in the FAA regulations.

Drones for beginners is a good niche. Although there are lots of sites on the topic, I believe folks will "listen" more especially given your experience. Don't fail Bill ; )

Bill,
You finally found a real program to join. Welcome. I haven't tried any others but I am really impressed here. The training is exceptional, the members are truly amazing, I have progressed so much in less than 6 weeks that I am impressed with myself and usually I downplay myself. I am just now starting to advertise for Amazon and plan to hook up to many other Affiliate programs to make some money. My plan is to start pulling in approx 1,500 dollars a month primarily with one or two websites and then expanding from there. It takes a lot of work making good posts that get ranked on the search engines but using proper keywords, it will happen. I signed up to Premium after 3 days because I am smart enough to realize the advantage this gives me. You will too, I'm sure because our age group realizes a great deal when they see it. I now own two domains which are super cheap (15 dollars a year). The WA members will comment on your posts which increase traffic and boosts your rankings on Google. Check into 'Chat" and see for yourself the tremendous help we all give each other. Start the training, stay with it and you will succceed! Contact me anytime. In 3 or 4 weeks, you can start selling!
Best regards

What's up Wilbur!

I just thought I'd not only welcome you, but also help you get started on the right track so that you're not confused with anything like you probably already are.

First off, you'll want to put a pic up (preferably of yourself) and say a little something about you so it can be easier for others to help you, which you can do by clicking on the little square with a question mark up on the right.

Starting out, there are only 2 things you really need to know.

1. People who TAKE ACTION by asking questions and interacting within the community are much more likely to be successful and learn this stuff faster than someone who joins and does nothing.

2. The level 1 certification course (green tab to the left) will explain the process of how to make money online and you should have a pretty solid foundation built by the end of this course as well.

By lesson 4 you should have your first site up and running, which I'm sure you'll find to be an accomplishment on its own.

Click the link below to get started on your first lesson and you'll be on your way. Also don't forget that if you have any questions, just ask as everyone is here to help.

I hope this helps Wilbur and welcome to the wonderful community here at WA, which I'm sure you're going to love!
