Battery Life
For me the question has always been, should I leave my laptop plugged in or should I pull the cord?
I finally found an expert source.
Apple says it doesn’t matter.

Heat - the battery killer
What does matter is heat. Batteries in general, but lithium-ion batteries in particular, like room temperature. They start getting uncomfortable when the temperature gets above 90 F. A real good way to fry your battery is to leave it in a car when the outside temperature is above 100 degrees F.
Apple says its laptop batteries will have 80% recharge capacity after 1000 charge cycles. A charging cycle is from 10% to 100%. Lithium-ion batteries are not happy when fully discharged. If you use half your battery charge every day that means a full charge cycle takes two days. Your battery should have 80% battery capacity after 5 years if it is reasonably cared for.
Apple Power Supplies
Apple power supplies have a little bit of magic. They are designed to slow charge after the charge reaches 80% and shut off when the charge reaches 100%. In other words, the battery is offline when power is plugged in and the battery is fully charged. It is best to leave your laptop plugged in when power is available. That way your battery won‘t be in a charging cycle.
Windows/Android Power Supplies
I don‘t know about other laptops. In general, my research says when using Windows/Android devices unplug your device when fully charged. Each manufacturer has different recommendations. Check with the manufacturer to be sure how to maximize your battery life.
