5 Ways to Find Those Darn Keywords

So we hopefully all know how to use Jaxxy and the Keyword Tool from WA but let's talk a little about the other ways that you can find related keywords and topics to cover in your niche.

1) Google Autocomplete and Related Terms

Well, Google is a good place to start. First off, go to Google and type in the term that you want to research, lets use "lose weight" as our example

There you have it, 3 more keywords that you can research. Then type each one of those in and you'll have another 9 keywords and so on.

Then there are the suggest terms. One you've typed the terms into the search and clicked enter scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see a bunch of terms.

Keep doing that with the keyowrds that you are interested in using and you'll have 100 keywords in no time!

2) Quora

Quora can give you great insights into what questions are being asked around a specific topic which will hopefully help spark some great content ideas for your site. Not only do you know people are interested in the specific topic or question but you can come back to Quora with an answer and link to your site :) Double win!

Using the same example as above I searched for "lose weight" on Quora. It returned countless results all of which had lots of people talking about them so I know there is interest there.

3) Google's Keyword Planner

Google has a tool that can help you expand your keyword research exponentially. Just load up their tool and click "search for new keywords using a phrase, website or category"

Enter the keyword into the box and select your target country (or select all) and then click, "get ideas".

PRO TIP: You can also put in a URL into the landing page section to generate results that Google figures are related to that page. So go ahead an plug in a competitors URL and see what magic comes up!

Once loaded click the Keyword ideas tab which should populate around 800 keywords which can then be downloaded and sorted in Excel. The tool also provides the average monthly search volume (based off of exact match searches), the suggested bid for Google Adwords (which is interesting since the higher this number is, generally the more competitive it is).

4) KW Finder - kwfinder.com

I've found that this is a great tool for finding long tail keywords with low SEO competitions. I'm not going to write much about it but go try it out, they have a free version.

5) Soovle - soovle.com

Soovle os great as it gives you a quick overview of some key terms that could be interesting. Play about with this tool and find more long tail variations of your terms. Soovle gives you results from Wikipedia, Google, Amazon, YouTube, Bing, Buy.com, Ebay, Yahoo, Answers.com and more.

Well that's it for today folks. It got a little thin towards the end but hopefully the tools will speak for themselves. It's getting late over here so I better hit the hay.

Hope this post helps y'all and look forward to chatting with you.

Good luck everyone.
