Too Old To Rock And Roll, But Too Young To Die
My favorite band of all time is Jethro Tull! I have been privileged to see them in several venues, with one very close personal experience.
And as a young rocker, I did a lot of Tull tunes, because I had Ian Anderson's voice down and learned to play the flute.....
My band did Aqualung, Cross-eyed Mary, My God, Thick as a Brick and one of my favorites:
Too Old to Rock and Roll, But too Young to Die.......
The Beatles had a song called "When I'm 64." Well I am 64. So now I occasionally play rock in some sort of 60's throwback concert. I believe these things are usually sad, but I have found a way that works for me.....
I play from my heart. Yes, I have a few "tricky licks," but I don't care. I play with all the passion I can muster. And yes, it takes a day or two to recover now, but I got time on my side.
No matter what we do here at Wealthy Affiliates, we must do what comes from the heart. Why? Because 20 years from now when the spurt of money is gone, you can do what I do at night...... Go to sleep in perfect peace, knowing that I never sold out!
Just sayin

You can also never be to old to rock and roll in fact. You just produce more sqeaks with the rusty joints!
The one band that never took drugs and were formed in my home town Blackpool. Sadly only ever saw them once. Ian Anderson standing on one leg playing the flute. Awesome!
What are the youth of today going to listen to when they become old? Of course "Motörhead" what was I thinking. I have just slapped myself several times.
So true Fred, and it's easier to run with and keep coming up with new stuff, because it flows.
From the heart.....without that passion, zest, etc. all efforts bring NO fruit...just a bunch of pits that hurt the soles of your feet while you continue chasing dreams....lol
I too enjoyed Ian Anderson Jethro Tull back in the day. I once saw an old friend now dead, at a Tull concert, he was so under the influence, he did not know me. I probably wasn't worth knowing anyway, but I enjoyed Ian singing "Thick as a Brick", still llike the song, have it on my playlist. Trivia question Who was Jethro Tull? Yes he existed at one time just as you and I. If you know the answer then you are a fan.
Jethro Tull was an English agricultural pioneer from Berkshire who helped bring about the British Agricultural Revolution. Will there be a prise for knowing the correct answer??

I still play, and would love to have a classic rock, r&B, and blues band to play in on weekend bar gigs, or maybe the small concert venue now and then. It's been 30 years since I last played professional rock, and I still miss it.
The young guitar players have taken things to a whole new and exciting level, what with the tapping, scraping, etc,, but I can still rip off a melodic, tasty, lead with the best of the more "traditional" rock lead players.
Hey - if Mick Jagger and the Stones can still get onstage and prance around, rockin' solid in their 70s, you and I can sure get some rock on still in our 60s, right?
Damn straight!
