A long December and there's reason to believe

Maybe this year will be better than the last.

As I reflect on the past year, the most difficult of my forty, I am excited at the prospect of the next. This past summer I underwent my 3rd reconstructive shoulder surgery, something I have become accustomed to, having had a surgery every year for the past three years. Every surgery was aimed at the same thing, saving my career as a healthcare practitioner.

I was recently reduced to the reality that my shoulder will never be the same as it was before the freak accident I had in 2010. A chiropractor with a less than functional arm is like a dentist with missing teeth, it just doesn't work. Reluctantly I was forced to seek out a new career.

It is easy to dwell on what you don't have or what you have lost. It is not as easy to dwell on what you do have or what you can achieve. Human nature is funny in that respect.

I have my intellect and my strong work ethic which are two attributes that are perfect for this business. A business that I believe will continue to grow by leaps and bounds. Landline phones and newspapers have almost gone the way of the dinosaur. I believe big box retail stores and cable tv will follow suit in the next five years. The big box stores are quickly being replaced by the online consumer market. For this reason, to join a top company like Wealthy Affiliate for this venture into a new career change gives me more than a reason to believe that this year will be better than the last.
