Am I really doing this?
I'm on the cusp - I'm really one of those people who didn't grow up with the Internet from infancy, but I was young enough to adapt along with it when it first came out and began evolving into what it is today.
When I was in college, the Internet was still only in black and white (or maybe green and white). There were no pictures yet. Printers were dot matrix. There were these newsgroups I would skim through for recipes. Simple things like that.
There was no Google. There was Netscape (or WebCrawler). And, AOL. And, that awful dial-up sound. (I can still hear it now.)
Fast forward thirty years, man, things have changed. The things you can do, read, watch, and consume now are breath-taking.
And, it happened so fast. Too fast. And, I wasn't paying attention.
Then, I fell behind.
I don't know why people are so into tweeting, into sharing their every milestone, into verbal dueling with strangers in the comments sections - but people do it. A lot of them do.
I've decided to get my feet wet, again, and this time, make a few friends, carve out a little niche, and hopefully, make some money.
I realize the value and potential in this vast space called the Internet, and it's time I crossed to the other side.
