Hello to all my friends and followers here on Wa! I have something to share! As many of you know, I wrote a blog a few days ago saying I had FINALLY figured out Pinterest. Unfortunately, right after I wrote that, things got a little crazy around here. My husband was bitten by a spider on his lower calf. It enlarged to about 6 inches around and became infected. The doctor said he had a staph infection and he was concerned he would develop sepsis! So we went to the doctor every day for 7 days! We also had to put antibiotics on it and he had to take antibiotics for 10 days. The first one did not work and so he had to switch to a much stronger one. Thank goodness, that worked and we finally got it under control. It is almost gone now.

Then as that was winding down, I became seriously ill from severe dizziness. I suffer, on occasion, from Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). I had this once before in January, 2014 and spent 6 days in the hospital until they diagnosed me. I could not turn my head or lean over or do much of anything for 3 1/2 months! That is how long that episode lasted! I ended up in the hospital again on Tuesday, 9/25. They only kept me for the day and then released me. They just wanted to make sure I was not having a stroke or a brain aneurysm. They did an MRI and a CAT Scan. Both were normal. So, once again, I am a dizzy blonde (as my husband likes to call me!)

Now that I have explained the delay, I want to get to the news! I have had 545 monthly views on my Pinterest for the last couple of months. About 5 days ago, I started creating my own pins to put on my own boards. Pins only take about 10 minutes to create. So in between all the craziness, I was creating pins. I checked my boards today, AND ----- in the last 5 days I have gone from 545 monthly views to: THREE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED MONTHLY VIEWS!!My views have increased more than 6 TIMES in 5 DAYS! I am in total shock!! I still cannot believe it! I kept going back and looking at the numbers because I was sure I made a mistake!! NOPE!! No mistake! This is for real!!

So for those of you that are not using Pinterest, I think you should seriously consider learning how to use Pinterest. I have been studying another course I took, and the lightbulb finally went off! I have not had any sales yet, but I imagine it is only a matter of time before that happens. I wanted to wait until I had some sales, but I just could not contain my excitement!! And believe me, I will be tracking this very closely over the next few weeks! I still do not know how this happened. The only thing I did was create my own pins on my own boards?? Once you figure it out, it is really easy to do!

Also, if you are a newbie, take the time to set up your Pinterest account and start growing your boards. I think I have about 35 boards. Only 6 of them pertain to my niche. You need at least 15 - 20 boards and at least 30 pins on each board. It will probably take several months to grow your boards to the point that you will start getting a lot of views. SO NOW IS THE TIME TO START!!

Go through the Pinterest training here on WA, and also look at some of the other members that have done Pinterest training. After you have done that, if you need help, I would be glad to try and help you. You can also private message me if you get stuck! I am not that smart when it comes to Pinterest. It has taken me a long time to figure this out! So don't expect it to happen overnight. If you start Pinterest when, or shortly after, you start your website, everything should align down the road. Good Luck to everyone and may God bless you on your journey! Take Care.

Thanks and very timely as I have a Pinterest account but cannot grasp even the basics of adding pins have manages to create one board but the buttons appears in a different format than what appears on Kyle's video in lesson 4 which I have watched 3-4 times. Any help would be much appreciated. I have asked for support in that section. Hope your health continues to improve and wishing you every success and healing.

Hi Alan,
I will go back and look at Kyle's training and see if I can clarify things for you? Give me a couple of days. If you don't hear from me, just Private Message me and I will get back to you. I would gladly help you! Some things need to be done on a 1 to 1 basis. This is probably one of those things.

My husband has recovered and I am moving in that direction. I am still dizzy, but getting better day by day. Wishing you the best also. Take Care.

Blondes get a bad rap. Don't listen to him. LOL. Thanks for the information and I might call on you.

~Debbi

Yes, Blondes have always gotten a bad rap! We were always listed as not only dizzy, but dumb?? It has never really bothered me. I know the truth!! Please do reach out if and when you decide to try this. It is actually kind of fun! I love the designing process. If you are not familiar with Canva, check it out. It is free, and all of the social media templates are correctly sized so you do not have to worry about that. Also, if you have any questions about Canva, let me know. I will be here, so reach out! Take Care.

Thanks, I appreciate that!

p.s. Blondes DO have more fun. lol

Need to check it more good to know about the training here in WA

You definitely should check this out! It could make a big difference down the road. Take Care.

Glad to hear the worst is behind you guys, Connie.
Rock on your WA journey now!

Thanks so much for your concern! I am rocking on this journey. I hope my site starts producing in the very short term. Take Care.

I was diagnosed with BPPV. Now I know what the phrase "rocks loose in your head" means.

Congratulations on your Pinterest results! Onward and upward.

Isn't it funny how some of these phrases relate to medical conditions? I also had anterior/posterior spinal fusion surgery on my 5 lumbar disks. Three weeks after my surgery, I was in the shower at the rehab and had on flip flops. My heel slipped off in the wet shower, and I felt excruciating pain! Scared me to death! I was screaming in pain for almost 3 weeks! Even high doses of morphine every hour did not control the pain. I cried almost the whole time. It turns out, I had knocked a screw loose in the metal hardware that was put in my back. The screw had slipped and torn tissue around the screw. My doctor told me I would just have to wait until the tissue grew back in and stabilized the screw. OUCH!!

And, of course, my husband had a lot of fun with that! He said, " I always knew you had a screw loose!" HA! HA! So now, not only do I have a screw loose, I also have rocks in my head!!

I am sorry that you also experience BPPV. Only someone that has experienced this could possibly understand how limiting it is. I just found out about a manuever called the Epley Manuever to help with this. I have not tried it yet, but am going to. It does not work for everyone, but for those that it does, they say it is MAGIC!!

Thanks for the kudos on Pinterest. I am really excited to see where this goes! Take Care.

Hi. How do you relate your non WA boards to the business ones. Do you link them or mention your web page on them? Also, Do you put up pins that don't click to your website? I'm trying to build my pins but I have only got ones that link to a blog on my site. Jim

The advice from the experts is to eliminate all boards that are not related to your niche or at least make them "Secret" boards. That way you do not lose all your work. However, that being said, analytics shows that several of my other boards are bringing almost 50% of my traffic. I have not eliminated or put my boards as "Secret". For the time being, I am going to leave ALL of my boards showing. What I have done is move my niche boards to the top, and they are the first 6 boards anyone sees when they visit my account.

Each board is for a specific topic. So do not put items on a board that does not relate. For example, let's say you have a board titled "Making Money Online". You would not want to put your "Motorcycle" pictures/pins on the making money board. That would definitely confuse visitors. Keep each board exclusive to the topic. You would not link them or put your web pages on them. Only link like to like.

I make all of my pins in Canva. Canva is free. It is wonderful as it has all the right sizes for all different social media, so you do not have to adjust the sizes, etc. When I design my pins, I place a fabulous picture with either a question or text about my niche, and then I put my website at the bottom of each design. For example: www.mywebsite.com.

I hope I have answered your questions?? If you have others, you can private message me and I will try to help you. Take Care.

You got my interest ha ha ! Spiders are nasty years ago a friend of mine got bitten by a recluse spider and he had to take antibiotics , his knee was swollen for 3 days , I hope you are getting better soon all the best.

Yes, my husband spent about 2 weeks trying to get this thing under control. It has finally healed, thank goodness! I also am doing better. I am still dizzy, but it is getting better by the day! Take Care. If you become even more interested in Pinterest, reach out. Take Care.

I have personalized this message for future reference !

Pinterest interest pays!

You got that right, Mike! I had no idea it was such a useful tool for traffic! I am working even harder to keep the momentum going. Take Care.

Hello!

Glad to hear that both you and your husband are okay. Wow, spider bites can really be nasty!!

Thank you for the post! I had created a few boards months ago but have not kept up with things because of my own issues with a health-related matter. Thank God, things are better but I still need to take it easy. That stinks!!

Glad you've gotten those awesome figures from the work you've done! Keep it up! : )

God's blessings to you and yours!

Cathy

Thank You, Cathy. We are both doing much better now. I am still a little dizzy, but it is getting better day by day! If you need any help down the road, let me know. Just ask and ye shall receive! I will help if I can. Take Care.

I am glad you and your husband are ok, that is scary.

And WOW on Pinterest. Here I was about to give up. Heck, I even promoted a couple of pins. But I doubt any of my boards have10 pins, let alone 30 pins.

Do you use pictures leading to your site or actuals posts from your website?

Those numbers ARE something to get excited about. I know I'd be going in circles.

Next, you'll be selling to half of those visitors! You go, girl!
Laura

Thanks, Laura. Adding 30 pins to each board will only take you a few minutes. Go to the search bar, put in your keyword, click on one of the dropdowns, then look for "Boards" and pin as many images as you like. Do this for each of your boards. Only pin pictures that are totally related to each individual board.

You can use Canva to do pins for Pinterest. Canva is free. Once you sign in, there is a list of social media. After the first row, there is a block that either has a PLUS SIGN on it or says MORE?? I can't remember which? If you click the block, and scroll down, you will see a header for pinterest. It is a lengthwise rectangle. Then you just start designing something using that. It is already sized, etc. for Pinterest. I use a beautiful picture, ask a question in large text, either over the picture or above the picture. Then I put my website address on the bottom of the rectangle. I also believe you can list a "Page Link" to your website instead of just your website. I am doing this from memory?? If you have any questions, let me know. I am fixing to go on Canva now to do some more Pins! I will pay more attention! And YES! I really hope to start getting traffic from this?? We will see. Take Care and reach out if need be.

Thank you so much. I've spent yesterday and today over on interest creating boards and adding to them. It's starting to take shape. Thanks for sharing your post. And the very best to you!
Laura
