What Really Matters, Content or Website Design?

Do not mind my intellectual decision, am just comparing my last year/this year. My answer to the above question is that website design get trust from google before content, my reason is that last year when I created my first website, I found it difficult to get my content ranking on google, it took weeks, and with confusion and frustration i close down the website to take a break and think things through and to learn what having a website means to my audience and me. July 2019, i started looking for a solution and I found out one thing that made decided that website design matter to your business. The evidence is clear to me now. I published three articles at once and they got ranking in two days. Now let me ask you what you think?
