Online Business Essentials
Because I am the crazy cat lady, and don't leave my house often, I am dependent on friends and family to share my content in hopes it will reach more people. If I leave my house at all, it is simply because my cats need food or litter. Point blank.
The other day I got to thinking that it would be a great idea for me to invest in some business cards to help promote my business. I went to VistaPrint.com to make my custom business cards, got a stack of 100 for under $20. They were here before the expected arrival date. They were expected to be here on the 17th, but I have just received them in the mail today [the 10th]. I am ELATED with how great they turned out for what they were and my lack of creativity.
They have all sorts of color options, styles, themes, templates.. I mean, the options truly are endless! I just got my business cards, I have a number of animal shelters and animal welfare/rescue groups I am working with, and now all I need to do is get out more and talk to people about my business if I notice them buying cat things. Thanks for sharing. As much as we are trying to build businesses online, it is important for us to connect with people off-line. Business cards prove a great medium to professionally get the word out. It means a lot to people to have met the owner of a company or website, it invokes curiosity and makes them more excited to check it out than someone looking for what you are sharing from Google. Our ability to be personable in public is a great asset to our ability to build our business online.

Indeed! I am an animal welfare advocate, and I specialize in the behind the scenes stuff people don't like doing, so I get a lot of traffic from animal lovers. I have partnered with animal welfare groups, shelters, and more to promote the word, and I'm getting more traffic from that, too. Joined events, spread word about other people, and shared with people who I know will "ACT".
