Totally agree.
Some people get caught up with the get-rich-quick scheme mentality that when a genuine money-making opportunity is presented to them with the pre-requisites that it'll take hard work, commitment and dedication, they are off.
Yes, you will reap what you sow--if you put the hard work into your site, you will see your rewards!
thanks all for your input in this discussion.I told myself to hang on and keep plugging away till the 1 year mark which will be nov 2018 for me.After reading all of this,looks like the trek might take a bit longer than that :)))))

I totally agree, Billy. When you are starting a business - whether it is a brick and mortar one or an online business - you first have to invest a lot of time and effort to make it work. Nothing happens just overnight. But I don't just see this as a business opportunity. For me, this all is valuable training and learning new skills, which is best done by immediately applying what you have learned. So regardless of whether your site already provides you with an income or not: you are always a winner.
Hi Sammy, I have a traditional small business that has just reached the 14 month mark and yes it has been tough. I am glad I read this advice because I was trying to figure out when the WA stuff would turn a buck as compared to my "traditional" business".
Thanks for sharing this with us! It’s quite right when you compare it to a bricks and mortar business that your expectations are higher as we expect instantaneous results from the internet, but should remember that results can take time, building the business takes time, and getting customers takes time. I needed to hear this today :)

Yes. I agree. I have seen how this works. Slow and steady wins the race! Many people have grand expectations and then get discouraged and quit because they don't see results as soon as they want. I thought about quitting many times but I am glad I didn't.
Now over 2 years later I am making a profit and it is slowly growing each month. I could have reached this point much faster if I didn't have a regular job and other obligations already. I am thrilled that I can do this on the side and make money! People should know up front that this will take time and patience.
That is why it is so important to pick a niche that you are truly interested in! You will be working on it for a long time. It also helps keep us going to have a niche where we feel we are helping people. Even if we aren't making money sometimes it feels good knowing your work is doing something useful. That authenticity shines through and tends to result in more sales however!
