Don't be afraid of going slowly, be afraid of standing still

I came across this chinese proverb recently and began to think how this fits the affiliate marketing space.

All too often someone is drawn to affiliate marketing because they hope to make a fortune overnight. They believe if they can just find that one perfect niche all their prayers will be answered and they can ride off into the sunset trailing a pot of gold.

But anyone who has made the decision to start an online business knows the truth is slightly different. Getting rich quickly is a nice idea and if you can do it more power to you. But make sure its not done at the expense of building a strong foundation upon which great things can be built.

This kind of building is a slow and steady process and generally cannot be avoided.

What's important is to know its the truest way to long term success and keep moving forward and don't stand still.

When you feel things are going slowly don't just stop and moan, find another area where you need improvement and work on that. There are hundreds of skills that can be improved upon and each time you make improvement in one area it translates into something else. What feels like going slowly in one area is actually moving forward in another.

Growth is slow. Revel in your growth and when you do you will see you are not standing still at all.
