Completed course 2 this evening. An excellent tutorial, I really like how kyle has broken things down into incremental steps. there was so much good information, i am probably going to need to go back through some of the lessons again and take some notes.

i now have a few posts up on my site, and a few pages. I also have ideas for about 20 new posts. thanks to Steve's SUPER helpful tutorial here

I sat down and put together some plans and ideas. So much stuff i want to get done!

Agreed, Ethan. I also like how this course is divided into just the right size steps.

Looking at your site again, I have a couple of ideas for you to consider. If you add a coffee-colored background, I think the site would take on a very deep, rich appearance. Just search Google for "brown pattern," then click the images link and you'll see many options.

Your blog posts are all displaying full height. If you edit each one and add a MORE tag (it should be in your toolbar) after the first few sentences, your posts will then display shorter, vertically. This lets visitors scroll through and pick one that looks interesting, then click to read the whole post.

Both of these are personal preferences, so do as you see fit. If you make changes, though, post back here. I would like to see the difference they make.

Excellent suggestions Bart! Thanks for going back and taking another look. I implemented them, and definitely like the improvement. I used my own picture of espresso crema for the background.... too light? How about the lines where the picture was tiled... too obvious/distracting?
Thanks again!
Ethan

I like the blog posts being compact enough to browse.

As for the background being tiled, I try to find "seamless" textures. They're designed to prevent the seams from showing, which I think makes a site more professional.

It sure adds a nice touch to your site.

Well done Ethan - sounds like you're making very rapid progress. :) Beverley

Thanks for the comment Beverly!
Wishing you WA success!
