Are You Made of the Right Stuff?

Hi, wonderful WAer family,

I'm waxing philosophical today as I've found myself pondering on some of the blogs and comments that come across my computer daily.

We all recognize and applaud someone who is successful (making money) but do we ever stop to think just what their journey was from where they started to that success?

I've always enjoyed reading success stories and there is always a struggle. Which is fascinating when it isn't happening to you. He he

But success always comes from struggle. Every skill, every talent that we have today came with some struggle (learning to walk and talk for instance) it's an illusion that some people don't have to struggle. Truly.

It may seem that it happened quickly or that their parents gave them money but to retain any success you have to know what you did to get there. That is why we come to Wealthy Affiliate, to learn.

We want to "know that we know" and by knowing we can continue to grow to more success in the future. Knowledge is the one thing that no one can take away from you, that is the ultimate control. You may temporarily 'fail' but unless you give up you will eventually succeed. Because you will adapt, grow and move forward to new challenges.

Because ultimately we are all problem solvers (it's inherent.) We solve problems for ourselves and in doing so can lead the way for others. So never feel that you have nothing to offer the world because there will always be someone behind you and someone in front of you.

You learn from those who are ahead of you and pass that help back to those following. This is your gift to the world.

The skills that you bring to the table from the day you start are:

  • Perseverance
  • Tenacity
  • Patience
  • An open mind
  • Being grateful
  • Kindness
  • Consistency

These are all skills that you can't buy, beg, borrow or steal. You will either find them in yourself or quit. Learning at WA, will not only change your life (money), it will change you (as a person.)

Some will struggle against this change even though they desire the results. We understand that but it is worth it. It will be these intangible skills that will help you to grow each day to your success.

We all come in with an employee mentality (I made money for the boss) but really we were just filling jobs that they didn't have time to do and they paid us for our time. Now we have to be the boss, allocate the time to each task, solve the problems, collect the money and pay the bills.

No thumb sucking allowed (no one cares lol).

I love the fact that no one is telling me what to do with my time and that if I have a mini fail then I can find a solution, fix it and keep moving on. Each fail teaches me a great lesson to build a solid future on.

That's why this community is so crucial to your success. This is where it is safe to fail, pause, regroup (research a solution), and restart.

Which skill has been your hardest to develop?

Keep rockin' my friends.

This is your time!

Warm Regards,

Lily

Consistency!!!
My struggle/regroup has been longer than I would like but I believe that once I revisit where it was that I left off, I may understand it better with a fresh (older) brain. This post was motivating and inspiring and just what I needed to move one step closer. So, thank you and may I say, well done on all your efforts to get to where you are.

That is so kind of you Nat. Just know that by being here and recognizing that you needed to regroup is a huge step in the right direction.

The skill that I have lacked for the most part is perseverance. I am lazy and don't like to get out of my comfort zone. I have applied myself more fully since the middle of December and have re-learned some other important skills. I am researching more, writing more and reconstructing my websites. I spend at least 8 hours per day working.
Jerry

That is awesome Jerry.
I only get about 6 hours in a day but I pack them with productivity.

Being a housewife takes up a lot of time so I have to blend it all.

Lily

Thank you, Lily. Very inspiring post A lot of meat in what you said, The 7 skills you listed, I have been seeing and developing ever since the beginning of my network marketing days, and that was 20 years ago. And not only will they help your business to grow, but they will also help you grow as an individual.

Sonny

Wise words Sonny.

Lily, spot on post! The only way to fail is quit! I know I have been there. Had I not quit there is no telling where I would’ve today.

I can’t dwell on the what ifs only learn and grow from my personal struggles! The best way to learn is from experience, our own or from others.

You didn't quit, you just took a needed break. Lol
Now is the time for you to find your groove and succeed Lisa.

Lily

Lol. Yes! I’ve got this! Only going up from here. :) Thanks for trying to make me feel better.🤪🤪
