How I Deal With Days I Don't Feel Like Working

Some days I sit down to work and just don't feel like doing anything. No motivation, no energy for it. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, here's what actually helps me get through it.

1. I don't force myself to do the hardest task. On low-motivation days, I don't try to tackle the biggest or hardest thing on my list. I pick something small and easy instead, just to get moving again.

2. I give myself permission to do less, not nothing. I used to think it was all or nothing, either a full day of work or none at all. Now I just aim for something small. Even ten minutes of progress is still progress.

3. I remind myself tomorrow isn't guaranteed to feel the same. Some days are just heavier than others, and that's normal. I try not to read too much into one bad day. Most of the time, the next day feels completely different.

4. I look back at what I've already built. When I don't feel like continuing, looking back at how far things have already come helps more than pushing forward blindly. It reminds me the work is actually adding up.

5. I stop comparing today to my best days. Not every day is going to be my most productive one, and that's fine. I stopped expecting every day to look the same, and that took a lot of pressure off.

Some days just aren't going to be big ones, and that's okay. What matters more is not letting one slow day turn into a full stop.
