My Dad is an Idiot.

A Napoleon's Idiot that is. (He came up with the name and I just follow what he says)

For years, and I mean years, my Dad has called me on Skype to ask me questions about the different Social Media sites, his email, programs he was having a problem with and so on. I could be in the middle of a meeting with potential clients and he'd call and say, "Hey, I'm having this problem with ____________(fill in the blank) and I'm going to share my screen with you!"

Thank God I work for myself and the clients I had were amazing and loved my Dad. ;)

Well last year we got this bright idea to start recording our conversations and the screen because we knew that these questions were being asked by others as well.

Especially from the Baby Boomers and Seniors that were coming online and being completely confused by these Social Media sites.

So we came up with The Napoleon's Idiot Series! We cartooned ourselves, started recording, uploaded it to YouTube and the rest is history.

Dad use to tell us 6 kids a story about Napoleon's Idiot. Whether it was true or not it always stuck with me. Napoleon Bonaparte kept an "idiot", on his staff to review all commands issued from his headquarters before they were sent. If "Napoleon's Idiot" understood them and could explain them, the orders would then be sent to his brilliant field commanders. This avoided many serious errors on the battlefield.

Fast forward to today and if I can teach my Dad to understand these Social Media sites and avoid errors along the way, then you can to.

We usually do an episode a week and with Dad being 77 yrs. old (I think that's how old he is lol) there is no telling what will come out of his mouth. Some of our episodes are definitely comically, especially this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjlKlsmH2uw

I love doing these episodes because it gives my dad purpose. It gives him a reason to get up in the mornings. It gives him something to look forward to and it gives me the opportunity to stay connected with my dad when he lives so far away from me.

If you'd like to watch some of our other episodes follow this link https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbbnKy5q8XT...

and if you feel led to leave us a comment or have a suggestion/question for an episode, please do so. He absolutely LOVES reading all the comments and it always brings a smile to his face.
