Schedule for Part Timers

Do you build your WA business part time? Do you have a full time job and are struggling to find the time to build your blog after coming home from work and having family time?

Yeah, that's me. I work full time and while my job is not super demanding of my physical energy, mentally I have to have my mind in the game while I'm at work and cannot goof off to work on my blog. Trust me, I'd love to do that because as a sales person we have many opportunities to goof off. However, I'm driven to succeed at everything I do so when I'm at work, it's all work. That being said, I leave my house at 7am and I don't get home until 6pm and that leaves little time to research, write, look for photos, look for affiliate product, post and upload to social, make videos, you know the drill. *sigh*

So...if you are a part timer for now or for however long you need to be, a work schedule for your business is integral to your success. Ya need to commit if ya wanna succeed. Period.

So here's how I do mine, kinda in a nutshell. And mind you, I'm a beast and Type A personality - so feel free to adjust to your own needs. lol

  • During the day while at work I keep notes on my phone for blog ideas and website ideas. It saves time for later in the day
  • 6pm Come home, change clothes, feed the dogs, feed myself
  • Log in to WA, say hello to newbies, read blogs, check the chat
  • Open my blog, check/reply to comments
  • Research my new blog topics, look for images, look for affiliate products
  • Write a new blog post
  • Promote new post on social
  • Give comments on Site Comments, ask for comments on Site Comments
  • 11pm Hubby comes home and I close my laptop.
  • Midnight go to bed, get up at 5:30am and it starts all over

That's pretty much it. I may not get to all of this in one evening depending on how extensive my research goes. There's a lot of reading to do and sometimes that takes a while too.

So my closing comments are: make a schedule or hit list of things you want to accomplish every day and bit by bit you will get to your goal. Persistence and consistency are the keys to success in anything you do. Customize your schedule to suit your individual needs, you don't have to neglect your family to build a business but you do need discipline and boundaries and a goal to shoot for every day.

Thanks for reading! Come back and see me again some time soon!

Aloha,

Annie T

I will be similar but I wont be staying up that late no,no,no lol
I will be scheduling my time in for next week thats for sure...thank you for your input Annie.

I'm a WA part-timer myself, with a full-time "mental" work. My schedule is as rigid as yours but consistency is quite hard to achieve as life keeps happening. But we will get there, it may not be as fast. Let's enjoy the journey with the pace we're at.

As of next week, I get the privilege of following your schedule.
Not looking forward to it, but if I want this, it needs to be done.
I think that I should be able to do one blog a week, maybe.
Still have a lot to learn.

Me too!
Hard to find time to get engaged with WA
.In fact looking to hire someone from WA to build my blog
In kitchen products

Tony,
I have thought about having someone write for me, just to help out a little, but it looks like it can get quite expensive. From my research $100-$300 for a small blog.
