My Giddy Up and Go

Here I sit, older by the day,

Often times thinking, I need to get away.

Held in place by family and friends,

Yet all I see, are roads with dead ends.

My giddy up and go has long got up and went,

But, with God, I must remain content.

Here I sit as time goes by,

Never questioning, the how, or why.

Held together with threads of Love,

Looking toward heaven, to see the Dove.

My giddy up and go, has long fled the scene,

But, with God, I still have my dream.

Here I sit, no tears can flow,

Emotions are gone, medication, you know.

The C word has come, to claim my life,

I thank God in heaven, for he gave me my wife.

My giddy up and go has carried me down,

I think I understand, the tears if a clown.

Here I sit, the time is at hand,

God is calling, I can hear the band.

When we are young, 30 is old,

But then as time catches up, we are not so bold.

My giddy up and go, has done wore me out,

I am not so important, I have not earned any clout.

Here I sit, writing words of prose,

God may see them as a beautiful rose.

My words they are lost in a world full of Pain,

Treasures in heaven, that is where I will gain.
