My website traffic has gone way up and I am not sure how!

So over the past 3/4 months that I have been working on my site, I would check my Google Analytics account to see what was currently happening with my traffic.

Usually when I would check, it would indicate that there were maybe around 2-3 new visitors or sometimes 1 or 0, however, when I happened to check my Analytics app on my phone, I was shocked when I noticed this:

At first, I got super excited that things had appeared to be happening but then I thought, "wait, where is this traffic coming from?" and when I checked, it said that 50 of those users directly typed in my url and that this all happened at 11 AM yesterday which I find a bit odd.

Should I be worried about this? I think it is cool that my traffic has gone up but then again, I do not want Google thinking that I did something bad. I have not posted my website url on any source online to increase traffic.

How is your organic traffic comparatively speaking?

I mean from search engines.

That seems to be staying the same

Just asking as I suspect google is rolling out an update as my traffic shot up. Been using the comments engine lately? sometimes my traffic from WA shows up there instead of referral traffic.

Since it is not genuine traffic I filtered out that for greater accuracy in my data.

I usually request 2 comments a day from the Site Comments platform but I do not think that would be the cause since it is not that much.

I did however forget to request 2 comments yesterday and that is when the traffic increase happened which is weird.

Have you promoted it on social media?

Not necessarily promoted but whenever I would make a new post on my site, I would usually share it both on Twitter and Pinterest.

In that case, if it's gone up that high for someone typing in your URL im not sure what has happened, someone will be able to give you the answer though I'm sure.

I sure hope so because as much as it excites me, it is also very strange that it would go up that much out of nowhere.

It does seem high, I'll send @rich over now to see if he knows
