# 2 - Logging in N00b Hours

So today I've decided that I should probably start getting my act together and no longer postpone the website building. This is something that I've been dreading forever. What kind of freaking content will I put on? I'm not a writer! People are going to go to my site and they're going to hate me. And all of these self-sabotaging thoughts keep coming up. So I went to the gym and started my kettlebell workout when it struck me.
Self: "WHO THE HELL CARES IF YOU SUCK AT WRITING CONTENT?! Just do it, learn from it, and move on with your life. For christs' sake man. Just nut up and go for it. You've already paid for the domain and you've already paid for hosting. might as well make use of it. HOLY S*** don't drop the weight on your foot!!!?"
So of course I hit the nearest starbucks and I order absolutely nothing. I just had to get away from the smell of feet and ass from the locker room at my gym. Apparently coffee helps reset the olfactory senses.... maybe its bs but I no longer smell feet. Anyway, I go home afterwards and I figure, "it's time to get to work!"
9 hours later I'm still trying to figure out how the hell to set-up my website properly, considering my noob first post where I should've just stuck with the program...... but I digress. I read through the lessons over and over again just to see where I went wrong.
Keep reader in mind... check
No duplicate content... check
No promotion in home page.... check
Dont copy and paste info from other sites... check
400 words in length,.. check
So now that I've created my web page and I have the necessary plug-in and I followed all of the instructions given... I realize that my home page isnt the page I just created. So since about 3am today I've been wrapping my brain around how to do it. And suddently I decided that I'm going to ask for help on live chat. I've gotten a great tip from @rvkram and I deleted the entire thing and started from scratch. I knew this was going to be a long night/morning. So anyway, I did that and i was still experiencing the same problem.
Long story short I asked again and @RICH was so helpful enough to inadvertently help me by me doing the exact opposite of what he asked me to do. I thanked him up and down for indirectly helping me and I moved on with my life. So now I can officially say that although I have only 1 page up, (and yes, now the home page is the new page that I created), the site is up and running and its beautiful. I feel extremely accomplished. Now on to lessons 8, 9, and 10. It's going to be an epic morning....

Hi, I don't think we've met on WA before. Nice to meet you.
It sounds like you've got a great niche, and are working hard on getting your site up. Sometimes new skills are tough at first, but after you get a couple sites under your belt, it'll come second nature, and you'll go on to tackle even harder tasks.
After reading you blog, and visiting your site, I have 2 suggestions.
1. Try to find an affiliate program before putting a lot of work into your site. It may be a great niche, but without someone paying you, the work will be for naught, unless maybe you get some adsense (or similar program) up.
2. The first paragraph is really big. It's probably a good idea to break it up into small, bite-sized sections that are easier to read.
It looks like you have a link to a product at the bottom, which I think is a good idea to go with. Even if you can't find a particular program for this niche, you may be able to find products related to this type of injury, and make some money that way.

Thank you so much. I DEFINITELY appreciate your feedback. I will fix these things right away, considering that you're absolutely right, the first paragraph is a bit big. I am trying to find an affiliate program to go with. I did put in my application for a private affiliate and I'm afraid that they may either reject my application or that they won't respond. I've already looked at clickbank to see if I could find a product or something and unfortunately there is nothing there related to my niche, which raises a big concern for me since i've already logged a ton of n00b hours to this niche. And some people on here have been so incredible in helping me get this site off the ground and running. I would be remiss if i didnt continue, but sometimes part of the journey is to know when to "jump ship" so to speak. I welcome any more advice you may have!
Someone once told me, 'don't marry your niche'. I'm not saying to quit your niche, but don't worry so much about 'lost hours', because nothing is wasted. Every minute of work you did on this site, even if you don't end up making money from this site, will help you to make your next site faster and better!

Hi. Really liked your post. Checked out your site and two things: 1. I knew nothing about this and now I do. 2. Is this something you can write a hundred pages about? Or is it too specific? I really don't know anything about this market so I'm not sure.
Thanks Rick. It's a super specific niche and I've found a lot of resources about it. Im going to need to find an affiliate product though since the private affiliate program I've tried to join still has not responded to my request to join. But it will give me some time to put up a lot of content to the site.

WA is overwhelming all by itself, with all these friendly people welcoming us and especially all the ladies... it took me three days to eat after I joined, I was so overcome..! - just joking, sammikay, you're wonderful, caring, special.... and pleeeaaase, don't ever change!!
I made 1 sale a million years ago online, and of course clickbank was like "well, you haven't made anymore sales so we'll just charge maintenance to your account. In either case, I was silly and I let it go. Instead of working harder at it. So because I haven't made consistent money online, yes, I do consider myself a newbie.
