9 N00b On Content Writing
Vitaliyg has written some amazing content regarding blogging and how long your post should be. It was a question that's been burning in my mind for a while. The cool thing here is that he explains that writing a 1,000 (yes, one thousand) word post is the absolute MINIMUM you should write when creating posts. Of course always keeping in mind the user experience and providing high quality content.
My concern was how would I come up with 1,000 words to discuss a relatively short topic? Or how do I create posts that long if I'm a concise writer?
Honestly, those questions, although pointed, don't matter. There are many many many many websites out there that have done what you are doing. How do you distinguish yourself from others? What's your uniqueness?
Following this logic, it would make sense to write about a topic that you are genuinely interested in. WA calls it passion. If you have knowledge about something, I would say go for that. If you run out of things to write about, do a quick Google search for expand on your awareness of your topic.
That's what I did. It made it easier to write when I did a quick search on the topic. I also relate my own stories in the posts I make. This not only adds content but you also connect to your reader on a human level when you give them the opportunity to experience YOUR experiences.
Suddenly the 1,000 word minimum doesn't seem so bad. Many times, as it turns out, I reach the 1,000 word mark, and I just keep writing...

It's surprising that when you let the words flow, and not concentrate too much on word count, that the words do tend to keep on coming! :)
