Tell me about amazon people? Why do they ask their affiliates about hst & gst

I just signed on as an amazon affiliate,why do they ask us about gst and hst? Are we required to pay the tax? On their products,I thought we were just advertising.....for them tell me about the hidden fees,and they stated to contact “CRA” Canada revenue agency,for what exactly? Please enlighten me? I welcome it!

As far as I know, USA will ask you if you are a citizen, If not they will not tax you, If you are residing at the United Kingdom and you are doing business in the UK, you will pay the tax and so on. I think they do this in order to raise their own country's revenue.
There are people who know better than this we will listen to what they will say in this matter because I am not completely sure
