I Absolutely Love Halloween!! It is my very favorite holiday. Only once a year do we get the chance to escape ourselves, and dress up to be whoever/whatever we want to be. It's such a fun holiday all the creepy crawlers come out, all the masks and painted faces. Scary ghouls and witches and ghosts. Screams and eerry music at haunted houses, hay rides and story telling. Not to mention all the fun sick treats you can and sooo much candy, it would last all year long! Man! There's nothing else like it.

Halloween, is a festival which falls on October 31. There are many references to the custom during the 18th and 19th centuries, in the Celtic countries of Scotland, Ireland, Mann and Wales. The custom comes from the Celtic festivals when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward of ghosts.

The Celts believed the year was divided into two parts, the lighter half in the summer and the darker half in the winter. Samhain, or Halloween as it is now called, was the division between these halves. The Celts believed that the veil between our world and the other world was the thinnest at this time.

By the 1930s costumes based on characters in mass media such as film, literature, and radio were popular, worn mainly by young people, but since the mid-20th century they have been increasingly worn by adults as well. Cosplay, a portmanteau of the words costume play, is a performance art in which participants called cos players wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character.

Cosplay is a performance art in which the participants dress in costumes and make-up, representing characters from anime, video games, television and film. Cosplayers also act in character and are usually subject matter experts on the characters they are replicating, as well as creating authentic costumes.

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday! Even when I was a little girl. It is the only time you can be whatever or whoever you want to. To come free of your own skin, body, and mind. To paint your face, wear a wig and play dress up! And it only comes once every year. In addition to dressing up, don't forget about the CANDY! I Not to mention all the fun and yummy treats you can make and eat.

FUN HALLOWEEN HOMEMADE COSTUMES

How cute is that for toddlers! I mean just look at them, that last one is a bull in a china shop in case your wondering. All very adorable and not expensive to make. Sea Anemone

This instant statement-maker is surprisingly easy to pull off. To make, blow up long, pink balloons and attach them by the knot to a pink shirt with a safety pin. Then give the other party-goers some context clues by creating a crown with pipe cleaners and felt, and decorating it with plastic fish

Helga Pataki Halloween Costume

Even if you're celebrating Halloween solo, you can still wear a satin pink bow, stick-straight yellow hair, and unibrow like Arnold's arch rival-turned-girlfriend. Practice saying "Move it football head!" to get into character.

Pop Art Character Halloween Costume

With this cool costume makeup, you can pretty much wear whatever you want and still look incredibly put-together. It doesn't get any better than that, right?

When the sun goes down and the moon shines bright, it’s hard not to think about what’s out there in the night. Halloween is known as the scariest night of the year, thanks to the belief that on October 31, the barrier between the living and the dead is at its weakest.
Whether you’re looking for Halloween inspiration or you want to send a shiver down your spine, these scary quotes will do the trick.

Catherine Fisher

Walls have ears, doors have eyes, trees have voices. Beasts tell lies. Beware the rain. Beware the snow. Beware the man you think you know.

Bram Stoker, 'Dracula'

Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!

H.P. Lovecraft

There are horrors beyond life’s edge that we do not suspect, and once in a while man’s evil prying calls them just within our range.

Mark Twain

Everyone is a moon and has a dark side, which he never shows to anybody.

Marisha Pessl, 'Night Film'

Just when you think you've hit rock bottom, you realize you're standing on another trapdoor.

William Shakespeare

By the picking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.

Charles Addams

Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.

I don’t live in darkness, darkness lives in me.

ANNABELLE : Yes she is a REAL haunted doll.

Lastly, I;m throwing in a few party favors to make it that more fun.

CAT DECOR

Very simple and inexpensive as you can see. Pretty much the only thing it will cost you is a little of your time. The next one is going to be a little more time-consuming but really fun to make and give away.

CANDY FILLED (WITCHES) BROOMSTICKS

Too much fun.

And last but not least, OREO SPIDER COOKIES let's get this party started!

It has never been a big event here, but I hope you have fun.

Really why not? Where's here?

I'm in Northern Ireland and it has never been a big event here. We always had apply games and bought faceics and things as kids and for last 20 years or more a local city has put on a parade and fireworks which I haven't been to in years, but it's supposed to be one of the biggest Halloween events in Europe. So maybe when I think about it it's probably nearly 30 years and it's me and not the country that doesn't make a big deal of it lol. Isn't funny that sometimes when you stop and consider something it is actually different from you thought lol. I think it was probably the banning of fireworks during the troubles and they still are unless you get a license, that has affected my thinking. Have a good time with your celebrations. Will be quiet here this year as all events have been cancelled.
