Search Engine Startup Phone Call What is this?

In my WA Site.Rubix Manager, I have done as instructed, but at the bottom of the page it still says it's redirecting to my site.rubix site. Then I got a disturbing phone call from searchenginestartup.com I began following their instructions to fill in my information and put in the Promo Code. When I did this, I was given a P 'discount' = $300.00 left to pay! I am at a standstill, to say the least! Have I stumbled on a scam? They have my phone number, which came after using the domain purchase screen. Please reassure me that I do not have to pay another $300 to proceed! The automated phone call stated that everything was ready to go, just provide the code. I called the co. again and it gave me a new code.

I just got this call as well.

They called me as well I didn't know what they was talking about so I put it in the search engine and I'm glad I saw this comment peace

This sounds very much like scam to me!

Yeah, you should never be solicited to in this manner. Avoid anything that you get "phoned" about, it is always a scam.

Thanks Kyle! Do I need to make an announcement about what happened for Newbies? Where, please? As a blog? Thanks for your time, Lynne

Glad I've seen this because they called me to

Definitely ask support for help Lynnette...

It's a scam -- registration with search engines does not require any payment.

Do I need to announce the scam alert, or what do you suggest? This only came through using the instructions to purchase my domain and using the emails I was given for further instructions.
My domain still states as being redirected. How long does this take? Is it automatic? I tried to get those formerly created pages in Site.Rubix to merge. I have added a Menu to the single page on my domain. It is also named Menu 1. I think my merged site will get confused by this attempt. What do you think, if you have time? Thanks for quick reply, Lynne

Ey there Lynne, did you get everything sorted out?

Yes, thanks. I have ignored their emails and phone calls. The last phone call they said that would be their final call to remind me. They mentioned that the 4 digit code would expire. That $300 would have been the end of me with WA, if I had thought I had to pay that for my site to be noticed in Google! I'd have been outa here! And how are we Newbies to know it wasn't just one more necessary thing to do for growing our business? So glad that so many responded to my question right away, including Kyle! I feel bad that I have not created a blog about this yet! It's almost midnight here, so this will have to wait until morning. I am bleary eyed. Thanks for asking.

Already kiddo, just checking!

Definitely a scam. I've been contacted numerous times since I purchased my domain. No idea how they got my info because I listed everything as private. I need to bring these jerks down! Such a scam. Can't get a hold of anyone. Don't know what to do.
