Why statistics do not reveal all.
Hi
I thought I would tell you a story for those of you obsessed with stats.
There was a business man who was so scared that he would be blown in an airplane. He hired the best expert in the field to help solve this problem.
One week went by and he heard nothing. Another week went and he still heard nothing. Finally, a week later the man came to his office, carrying a briefcase.
The businessman asked "Why did you take this long?"
"Well it is a complicated problem and it took a lot of analyse from many experts".
He then handed over the briefcase. The businessman asked "What is this?"
"A bomb" said the expert.
" A bomb?" said the businessman.
"Yes, a bomb. Our statisticians have completed an analysis and have determined that the likelihood of finding two bombs on the same plane is negligible. "
Remember stats and common sense does not necessarily go hand in hand.
Rely on your common sense.
Thanks
Antonio

I don't see the problem with being blown in an airplane honesty. I'm sure many men feel the same.
:-) Stats have some value, but are over rated oftentimes and can certainly be manipulated into anything you want.

Stats have a value if you know how to interpret them.
