Killer Content Series
Hello everyone and welcome back. I will be writing a mini-series on "Creating Killer Content" for your Website and/or Blog so there should be a new post virtually everyday as long as life does not interfere too much. I feel that this subject is important enough that I will lose some sleep over it just to get the new posts for the series out in a timely manner; so check back often for new information.
My main purpose and focus will be to cater to the new blogger or website owner, however as everyone knows that even the most experienced blogger or publisher can learn something new or just be reminded about certain important elements they may have forgotten about or put on the back burner. Now everyone has their own style of writing and I will not be trying to change that, after all you need to write for "Your Audience". Instead I will just be giving you ideas that you can use to benefit your writing style and just use the information given to enhance your writing style not change it; by now you should know who your audience and visitors are and what they are looking for or need to get from your website/blog.
As with everything else every aspiring Publisher and Blog Owner has their good days and bad. Sometimes you just have those days when new ideas just keep popping into your head and you can write non-stop with absolutely no problem. And then on the other hand, we have all been there, nothing comes to you and you cannot seem to think of your next topic or blog post no matter how much searching you do nothing just sounds good to you. What I like to do on the great days when ideas are just flowing out of my head is to make a list on my computer that I can refer back too, especially for the days when nothing new is coming to me or I am experiencing the so called "writers block"; then I can just refer back and see if anything sounds good or warrants a bit more research and focus.
On my bad days I find it necessary to clear my head and just forget about the website and just go spend some time outdoors (weather permitting), or spend some time indulging in a hobby. My two favorite hobbies that help me forget everything are woodworking and flying my radio controlled helicopters. After some time indulging my "kid" side I usually find that I can get started on the computer again and make some progress on the website, and I can always refer back to my list of ideas. I just feel that when the ideas aren't flowing and you are not able to write that you should just have some "you time" with whatever you enjoying doing to take your mind off of the business of writing.
The next post to this series will be on how to "combat writer's block", and as always will be looking for feedback and audience participation. What you have found that works great for you and what doesn't work; after all we are all different and have many different view points, writing style and personalities. Most important of all though is we all have different audiences and visitors for our websites and we must not lose sight of who we are writing for, "Our Visitor."
Your friend in online success,
Scott
