Almost 3 years ago I began my journey of affiliate marketing. I stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate by happen chance and jumped head first into this opportunity! frantically, I pressed forward feeling like I was on a journey into a world unknown and full of opportunity knowing only that I loved to write and the thought that I could make money doing it had me sold immediately!

So I picked my passion, (Video Games) and started executing! I followed along with the lessons but soon found myself modifying strategies and techniques to my own understanding and to what I personally found best.

I am a person where I struggle with this ideology that I will do it my way and if I do it "my way" hard enough I will make "my way" work "my way" I slowly but surely abandoned the crucial training in this program and ran myself in circles trying to force my agenda with my pursuits... I had only gone in circles and never forward, sometime I ran myself backward.

after almost two years of throwing myself into one of the highest competitive markets out there and modifying my posts countless times, I began to feel like I was literally pounding my head against a wall, all the while asking, "why does my head hurt?"

I broke off from WA (Wealthy Affiliate) and began my own site independently thinking in my head I'll do it by myself.... You can imagine how that ended up working out.... it didn't.... at all. In fact, affiliate programs would turn me down more time than not because my site didn't meet the certain criteria for specific areas. additionally I was making the same mistakes yet again but this time just doing the mistakes by myself.

I have returned now to WA and have accepted something through all my mistakes. "Who am I to try to reinvent the wheel thinking it's going to roll better than the initial design... if at all!

Listen, people have done this before countless times! The mistakes have already been made, the issues have already been resolved, and the challenges have already been overcome, why would you prove that you can't do what someone already proved they can't do? Does that make you better? I think not ... it make you st***d!

Listen, if there are people who has the knowledge in a certain area it is important to understand that the knowledge is not only the knowledge of how to succeed, but also how to not succeed as Thomas Edison said, "I have not failed 10,000 times—I’ve successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work" and as we know, good old Thomas found one way that will, and so has many people at WA with affiliate marketing! experience is refined knowledge, it has already been partially, if not entirely purified/perfected/refined. The best thing you can do is come under the leadership of those who have already been there, do your best to follow their instruction, and once you have acquired everything there is to learn from the experienced, than you may begin to refine from there to maybe further perfect the formula

Finding a niche is one of the first things you do when beginning down the road of becoming an affiliate marketer. I want to let you know that typically you will have a raw idea when you first think of something. You will need to refine that idea to be more specific and lucrative. For example "video games" needed some serious refining! video game guides? video game reviews? video game merchandise? video game ratings? video game prices? video game deals? old or new video games? rpg or first person shooter video games? one player or two player video games? video games for kids or for adults? not good. This must be refined to just the perfect niche that not only you have a passion for but also to the specific area that is actually going to be lucrative for you with low competitiona and a fairly high demand!

low hanging fruit is really the magic for me. literally the best of all messages I've gotten thus far. If you jump in with the big dogs right of the starting line you are as good as dead in the marketing realm. I would like to personally state that it is IMPERATIVE you start out with low competition keywords in your chosen niche even if the traffic is fairly low! Low traffic is better than no traffic at all because trust me, if you go for the keywords with thousands of visitors and a lot of competition you will be on page 10 and not see a single one of those thousand visitors! He who is faithful with little can be trusted to be faithful with a lot. You must prove yourself with the little leagues before playing with the major leagues! Build rep with low hanging fruit do not get ahead of yourself. Refine yourself as you work with small traffic so that when that traffic increases you have already perfected your skills to handle it.

I started out really rough (REALLY ROUGH) and I literally have held myself to follow the instruction, I found a sweet niche that is low competition and fairly high traffic and know that if I take it one step at a time with the low hanging fruit to generate that initial traffic and build from there, all the while refining my skills, I'm going to get there and I look forward to doing it... the right way this time... Refined!
