Are You Health Conscious

Just unconscious about your health ?

Are you..Unconscious, maybe a little Numb, perhaps unaware, not paying attention to, oblivious to...or just not concerned at all about your health.. why worry be happy.!

Does it really matter, should it matter ?

It should matter if, you are experiencing any kind of health issues, or if you have a history of specific health problems in your family, but Is that the only reason to be concerned?

Suppose you are out on a boat in the middle of the ocean, does it matter if your ship has holes in it ?

It doesn't matter if your ship is an oceanliner, a yacht, a tug boat or a canoe.. what does matter however is whether or not it will float or sink

After all you didn't get in the boat just to sink did you?.. you can do that without a boat. Okay so whats all this nonsense about a boat have to do with your health?

Just like a ship or boat has to be checked and serviced from time to time to make sure it can stay afloat especailly during rough weather.

In these tough difficult times that we are living in, it's even more important that we check our health to make sure that we can weather the tough economic, environmemtal, social and other storms that might come our way.

Some storms are just not on our radar.. we don't even notice them until they're right on us before we can do anything about them.

Most of us wake up in the morning with pretty much the same routine just about every day.. We eat the same foods, travel the same route (If we have to travel)

Do the same work follow the same schedule (rinse and repeat) day after day, week after week, year after year with very little thought if any about what impact or what affect it has on our health.

So if you all of a sudden start to have some pain somewhere or develope indigestion, you might not give it much thought at all, if it's not severe yet..and so we don't bother to do any research or check with our doctor to find out what is happening and if it is the beginning of something more serious

As we start to get use to the minor pain or discomfort, we then put it in the back of our mind (the rear view mirror) and chalk it up to...It's just a part of getting older, and we get on with our busy lives... But is that all it really is?

Good question, I'm glad you asked :) The answer is... I don't know and neither do you unless you try to find out.

There has been a lot of scientific research and study on this subject and some of the results might surprise you. I will be covering that in another post.

There's an old comedy skit (act) where one comedian plays the role of a doctor and the other one the role of the patient and the patient says to the doctor...

doctor it hurts when I do this.. and the doctor says in response... well don't do that!... It's funny because we look to our doctors to examine us, and after they give us some complex explanation as to why we are suffering, they usually give us a presciption and we leave probably feeling like we have accomplished something..

But the doctor in this comedy routine just offers a simple somewhat obvious solution...Just don't do that!... In other words, stop doing what you are doing to cause the pain, and the pain will go away:)

Sounds funny right? but it's not as funny or stupid when we apply it to real life.. for example, it's no secret that we are told to avoid or stop (Just don't do that!) eating certain foods to get rid of indigestion, now what if we applied that same principal to other things that bother us and affect our health..

Listening to what your body might be trying to tell about your health could help you gain better health and better health will probably make you happier

Usually when you do something that's not normal or healthy for you, your body will react in a negative way.. but can we always figure out exactly what our bodies are trying to tell us?

Some things you can control and some things you can't.

Life can sometimes cause us to be numb or uncaring, and all the more so if there is something in our life that we feel we can't control.. After all why worry about something you can't do anything about right.. because some things you can control and some things you just can't do anything about, but do we really know the difference between the two.

Do we really understand what we can control and what we can't, what we should not be concerned about or consumed by and what we should, what we should let go and what we should pay attention to?

There's nothing I can do about that so why should I care you ask?.. Is that true though, have you actually really tried as hard as you can to understand whatever problem it is that you face before you came to that conclusion? Or is that just something you convinced yourself of, because it's just to hard and to much work to understand what the problem is, and do something about it.

Trying to accomplish most anything worthwhile in life usually requires some work and especially some hard work if it's something difficult or hard to achieve... and if it's something difficult or hard to do we often say.. There's nothing I can do about that... but are we really saying I just don't want to try.. it's to hard.

I will cover some of these questions and possible answers in another post. I have rambled on a little to much already, I think my keyboard is getting tired :)

In another post we will examine some real life problems and solutions, but just keep in mind that not every remedy or cure that you hear or read about is a one size fits all solution to everybodies problem,

Just like people are individuals and different in many ways our body might react differently to the same treatment or supplement as someone else.

We might not react the same way with anything that we take or do or modefy... just to make ourselves better, the exact same way that someone else might react.. and so you might not get the same exact result as someone else.

Be mindful, conscious and aware of your body, and how it reacts to the many different substances, and ingredients that are in the foods and supplements that we consume, and continue on lifes journey a little better equiped to handle the rough weather of life.
