Closing in on retirement
As I get closer and closer to retirement age, I have decided that the next chapter in my life will include obtaining better health and a higher level of fitness. For the past year I have been exercising at home and the gym pretty consistently, for which I am grateful having done this so long a time which is a new record for me.
There was a slight disruption in my and everyone else's schedule because of you know what, (the virus) but I seem to have gotten back on track. Or so I thought.
According to a 2009 study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology, it takes 18 to 254 days for a person to form a habit.

The study also concluded that, on average, it takes 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic.
My mind and body do not agree
Closing in on the 254-day mark for my exercise to become a habit; why is it still easy for me to not want to exercise consistently. It is still too easy for me to roll over in the bed and say to my self that I will do it tomorrow, especially now that it is cold outside.
I'll admit that most times I do get over the procrastination and exercise, (Maybe that is where the habit is kicking in) but it still takes a lot of effort to do this. Will it get easier as time moves along? Maybe, but only time will tell.
The great boxing champion Muhammad Ali once quoted:
“I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’”
Maybe there still is hope for me. And this applies to my success at Wealthy Affiliate as well.

"Keep hope alive"
