Moving to a new Domain Name
Well today as my first day as a Premium Member has been quite a baptism of fire :). I decided that I wanted to change my domain name from Conscious Grandparenting.com to activewisdomhub.com. My niche is Active Wisdom which is the stage in our lives when we tend to leave the world of full-time work and head to 'retirement'. I want to create a hub for 'conversations,connections and programs' about how we can age well and share the wisdom we have gathered from a life well lived.
I wanted to have the website moved before I moved it to WA. Boy was this a challenge and I am not sure I am through it yet. I stumbled quite a number of time through lack of insight and when I found the answer it was staring me in the face but I really did not understand what I was doing. From not realising I have to select the correct folder on the LHS of FileZilla panel to not seeing the number of the ip address needed to make changes to DB hosting. To not realising I needed to change the nameservers at GoDaddy.
What I am pleased at is I have stuck with it and sought out help from WA members and the GoDaddy and Vidahost live chat rooms. I am not there yet - now need to wait 4-8 hours for the nameserver change to be accepted. Then I need to find my way to the control panel for the new domain - but that is for tomorrow. A cheeky glass of wine awaits :)
