Work and Rework Until Results Prove It's Done
Yes work and rework, every single blog.
I keep learning more and more every day. And I keep applying what I learn. The good news is, I am learning fast with the help here at WA. The challenge is, I was up to 24 blogs, and began learning things that caused me to go back and rework every one of them.
I am thankful I learned it now, rather than after 50 or 60 blogs! I love how quickly this WA is set up to get me writing content and learning and applying what I learn.
I have been a member since Nov 29, so I am a newbie. I don't yet have traffic or rankings, except my fellow WA'ers. I get it will take a while. And I am site the best possible for me to create!
What did I learn that sent me back to work and rework?
- .I learned that the sweet spot for blogs is 1000-1200 words. I had a few that were creeping toward twice that! Guess what! Now I have 35 blogs instead of 24. Pretty cool.
- I learned how important it is to have internal as well as external links. Now I have links from one post to another, for relevant content and further digging for my readers.
- I learned to make sure every post has a problem or reason for the reader to be searching for it. Then a solution for that reader. Very important the benefits for him of that solution. And close with a call to action-
In the midst of all that, the post has to be reader-friendly, with headlines, bold, images, and short paragraphs. I have to have a conversation with my reader, not give a lecture or a treatise. I'm even using contractions - see how I just did that!
I was an English major in college...contractions in writing, not having a topic sentence with two supporting facts, and then a conclusion - not the way I was taught to write. But it is definitely the way I speak. Now I am speaking more and more to my readers- when they start to come!
And they will. I know, because everything else here at WA makes so much sense, and is so well put together, that the results will come too.
Oh- one more benefit of working and reworking - google will re-index and I could actually get a ranking increase because I did all this work. Ah, that and the self-esteem from a job well done.
I recommend you go back and recheck your first month stuff, too. The odds are really high those early posts could use some work.

Thank you Annie. I have gone back and they all need some work. I am just learning how to do that.
You are doing an awesome job. As you said keep working and soon you will get traffic and ultimately conversions. All the best and good luck.
LOL! I actually am doing the same. Unfortunately, I have around 50 blogs ranging from 1000-5000 words and I keep learning stuff that will help my rankings or hurt my rankings so I go back and apply what I learned to each one of my posts!
It feels like a kind of trial and error. My skills and knowledge adapt and then I apply them. It comes down to finding out what works and what doesn't I guess.
Might as well rework our posts right - it's only necessary!
Keep in mind that all that work helps rankings! Good for you doing it with so many blogs!
Very well said Annie. We did get adapt at re-writing this week didn't we? I have a feeling one is never done with that task.
Press ON,
Craig
I can see that it is necessary to go back all the time to put in internal links. BUT I will make sure all future posts follow the guidelines so I do not have to do this again as extensively! How about you?
My niche is geared towards vinyl record collectors and a little of general music information (pre 90s music) so I am still working on my CTA angle
Very nice info to share. I too found that reworking some posts actually helped my rankings for that post!
Thank you for the insight!
:)
I am going on trust right now. I have no hard evidence.
But when you see something that is as well-thought-out and calibrated at every level as WA, the trust is well-deserved.
It is a GREAT YEAR!

You are quite right. We all need to go back and rework our offerings from time to time. As we learn new things we need to make sure that it is applied everywhere on our site. It is a good idea to do a site audit every now and again.
I think mine is due one soon.
With Grace and Gratitude

Ah, so it is not just this once? I was afraid of that- lol.
