Domain Registration and Whois Safeguard, does this affect Google ranking?
Hi folks,
A member here at WA affiliate had shown me an article regarding Google rankings when our domain name is protected by Whois Safeguard.
Does anyone know if there is any truth behind the fact that if we purchase Whois with our domain name, it will negatively affect our Google rankings?
Thank you for your imput!

Greetings Annick!
To the best of my knowledge, Wois protection is almost ignored by Google.
Here is a bit of light reading for you regarding 200 ranking factors that Google takes into account, according to the author's best guess:

I've never heard of such a thing. Neither the person registering the site nor the use of private registration, as far as I know, has ever affected rankings. I'll try to find a reference for that.
Thank you Bob.
