Getting Started

I am still new with affiliate marketing. It seems like a world from a different planet than the one that I have known. It's is scary and intimidating at times, yet fun and exciting. I know that sounds a bit crazy to you, but mixed emotions like that is common with me when venturing out into something new and unknown to me.

I enjoy learning and have a real passion for it. If I could afford to and had the time I would probably be a career student learning everything I could even if it didn't go anywhere other than learning it.

When I was first told about Wealthy Affiliate and being an affiliate marketer, I was skeptical. I actually wasn't looking for a work from home job at the time. I was in work from home groups because I sell Avon and was trying to recruit for Avon, sort of.

I happened upon an article that I wanted to know more about. I like writing. I seem to do very well at it. At one point I was writing articles for a guy that, as I now believe, was an affiliate marketer himeself. He was paying me $20 an article and loved them. He told me what he wanted written about and I would write an article on the topic for him.

After learning about affiliate marketing, I realized that writing for this guy was exactly what I was being told I would be doing here, only this time for myself. I was interested right away. I had wondered where the catch was with it and thinking it would cost me a bunch of money, however, I was willing to look into it a little more and see where it would lead.

Starting at WA

I did come to the WA website and signed up to see what this was all about. Having the first course for free for me is what had me really try this out. I went through the course and followed everything and was intrigued by everything more than I thought that I would have been.

Everything seemed so fascinating to me and I couldn't waitn to learn more. I finished course 1 in a few hours and then was disappointed to learn that to continue it was going to cost me money. The way I had understood things before joining, lead me to believe I could do this for free and make money without paying anything. Really upset at this point and took a day to calm down and figure out what I was going to do, I don't have extra money to throw at something or invest into anything at this point.

After two days of cooling off, I came up with the money for the discount on the first month of the premium membership. I know it sounds funny to hear that $19 was hard to come by, but in my case it actually is. If you read my bio you will understand why.

My thoughts on this was, I have 30 days to finish all of my training to be able to continue on until I start making money doing this to where I can come back. I want to continue and I want to suceed, and that is my solution to this problem. Surely, I can finish the training within 30 days. Or at least enough to get me going until after the holidays.

I am trying to stay optimistic about this and keep going even though some days it is really hard. I am enjoying writing very much and enjoy being here and I know that when I am not premium soon I will miss everybody and all of the support I have been shown here.

On November 9, I had my website on site rubix. On November 14 I had my own domain. On November 18 I had my very first post relating to my niche published. Here it is November 21, and I still only have one posted. However, with the training I learn something new and go and fix my original article so that it is correct. I have 6 other post that are ready now with the training that I have had so far and they will be posted when I am done here. On November 19, I recieved an email stating that I was ranked on google which is exciting for me.

This has been a real learning experience for me. One that I don't regret getting involved in. I am looking forward to getting more articles posted and eventually starting to make money doing this. I know that this is a slow and steady process and patience is key.
