What Starting Signal and Strategies Taught Me

What Starting Signal and Strategies Taught Me

If there is one thing I have learned from trying to build something online , is that figuring out what actually fits you takes time.

For a long time, I thought finding the "right niche" would happen instantly . I assumed people just picked something , stayed consistent , and somehow everything worked out . However, from my own experience , it has felt much more like trial and error.

Before starting Signals & Strategies , I explored quite a few niche ideas . At one point , I focused on mental health because it was something that I cared about and wanted to speak on. After that , I explored content around South Asian women empowerment , which also felt meaningful to me because representation and community are things that I value. Then I moved into content and copywriting , thinking that it might be the right direction I wanted to take. For a short period, I even explored AI companionship content, although that did not last very long.

If I am being very honest, there were moments where I felt frustrated with myself for changing directions so much . It can feel discouraging when something you thought would work no longer feels right . At the same time, I have realised that there is nothing wrong with trying different things . Sometimes you genuinely do not know what fits until you test the ideas out for yourself.

Funny enough, the idea of Signal & Strategies came from brainstorming with ChatGPT. I was trying to figure out what niche actually sounded like me , something that connected with my interests instead of forcing myself into something that did not fully fit. The more I thought about it, the more I realised I kept coming back to topics like social media, branding ,content, blogging, audience behaviour and digital marketing.

This is how Signal and Strategies started . For me, this is more than just a website. It is a place where I can explore digital marketing topics while still learning at the same time . I cover things like social media marketing, UGC (user-generated content), SEO, email marketing . PPC advertising , affiliate marketing, content creation , branding, blogging , and how audiences interact with content online.

I also enjoy exploring how platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and YouTube influence the way audiences engage with creators and brands . Something else I find interesting is how platforms are increasingly using AI-Generated content and how audiences can begin spotting it . Whether it is overly polished captions, repetitive wording , strangely perfect messaging , or content that feels too formulaic , I think people are becoming much better at recognising when something feels less human.

Even though Wealthy Affiliate already focuses on these topics , I wanted to add my own perspective and spin based on what I see online. I think that there is something interesting about looking at not only at how digital marketing works, but also how people respond to it , trust it , or sometimes completely ignore it.

What makes Signal and Strategies feel different from my past niches is that it feels much more aligned with where I see myself in the future . Instead of choosing content just to stick to a niche , I wanted to build something that genuinely interests me , and could also build my portfolio in the future. Since I am interested in digital marketing , content strategy, and branding , this feels like a way to both learn and showcase my work at the same time.

I also think that people online sometimes make success look much more straightforward than it actually is . People usually show the finished result rather than the messy middle part where ideas change , things do not work, and you have to figure things out as you go. From what I experienced so far, building something feels much more like experimenting than instantly having everything figured out.

Overall, starting Signal and Strategies has taught me that it is okay for ideas to evolve. Not every niche works out , and sometimes the right direction only becomes clear after trying different things first. Looking back, I do not really see my earlier niches failures anymore, I think they were part of figuring out what actually sounded like me
