New Year, New You

So we are in the new year now, and you’re supposed to be working on a new you, right? I mean that’s that whole point of new year resolutions; to try and be a better you.

Well im here to tell you that you can be a new you at any time, not just focus on it on new years. I read a book last year called Atomic Habits that described a habit to be 1% better than yesterday .

I have found that this is such a better way to try and change yourself. Instead of trying to overhaul your habits and yourself, which most of the time is a set up for yourself to fail(ie New Year’s resolutions), you only have to be a bit better.

So, instead of taking the elevator, you take the stairs. Instead of soda with lunch, you get fruit juice. Instead of doom scrolling on your phone right before bed, you read a page or two in a book or audio book.

These little changes will compound and before you know it, you will be changing your habits and becoming the person that you want to be. This applies to any area of your life.

Instead of large changes all at once, you focus on smaller changes, a little at a time. This helps build habits that will feel more sustainable and easier to keep doing.
