Into the Top 2000
So I've been here for a few weeks now and have been in the top 2000 users for a while - I'm now ranked 1783. I'm not entirely sure what the ratings signify, other than participation in the community, but they are quite distracting in a fun kind of way. I think I spent most part of a week doing more things to increase my rank than creating content and progressing through the course. I think the ranking system is a good idea to help to build the community, but it should come with a warning.
I've been more focused on my own content and progressing through the course recently and feel like I'm making real progress. The authentic vegetarian Thai and Asian food recipes blog that my wife and I are running, https://chilliandlime.net, is starting to get regular visitors and has even started turning up in a few Google and Bing searches for certain keywords. All in all I'm quite happy with my progress and am really looking forward to learning more about list building. We're currently getting between 15 and 100 unique visitors per day, but haven't had anyone sign up to our list yet! Plan for this weekend is to put up a welcome mat or an opt-in pop-up. Hopefully that'll have some impact.
